What's more important - the front or the back?
Be honest, how many pictures did your photographer take of the BACK of your dress? How many made it into the album? The reason I ask is b/c if the most compelling reason you are drawn to a particular gown is b/c 'the back is stunning', would that be enough to make up for an 'okay' front of the dress? In other words, front is rather plain but the back is different. Do I really care so much about the back?

i picked my dress for the front of it because thats what people see as they look at you.

Re: What's more important - the front or the back?
I think the front too. Unless you have a really nice back, and you're not wearing a veil, because a veil will hide your back and the back of your dress.I liked the front of my dress a lot. The back was very low cut, so there wasn't much to photograph!

Re: What's more important - the front or the back?
I picked mine for the front including the satin flowers at the shoulders. In fact, while I had it in my head that I wanted a beautiful lacy skirt, I eventually went for the dress I picked, with a very plain skirt, because I realized that most of the pics will be frontal shots, and focusing on the faces, not the feet. The photo you put on your desk or dresser or walls will be the shot with both of you facing the camera, not a shot of the back of your dress - make sure you like the way you look in the frontal shot.
Also, consider what you like about the back (trim, buttons, lace, etc.) A good seamstress may be able to add some adornment to dress up the back of another dress where you like the front. Likewise, could the shop's seamstress add some trim or lace to the dress with the stunning back, to make the front more appealing?

i had more detail on the back, and there were plenty of pics of it. close ups and full lengths... took my veil off at reception so it wasn't blocked.

I have pics showing the front and the back...the back had just as much detail as the front did.

Re: What's more important - the front or the back?
I guess I based mine decision on the back of the dress!
I knew I did not want to wear a veil, so it would not be covered and also I knew I would wear my hair up so you would see it!!
The front was really simple & there was only beading to just under the bust line.
So yes!! The back was more important to me! There many pictures (ceremony, dancing ect.) that showed me from behind! SO worth it for me!!

Re: What's more important - the front or the back?
There were a lot of pictures of my back (see avatar
) I loved both the front and the back of my dress, in fact, I was going to wear my veil all night, but then we decided that the back on the dress was so pretty that the whole thing actually looked better without the veil. Also remember that most of the pics during the ceremony will be of your back.
I know it's not really answering your question, but as the bride, I think you should look beautiful from all angles!!

Re: What's more important - the front or the back?
There were a lot of photos of the back of my dress but more of the front.I wouldnt suggest pickign a dress on either criteria. Go with the one that makes you feel the most beautiful b/c the one thing that will be photographed the most is your face!! If your expression is one of feeling beautiful, it wont matter what the dress looks like.

Re: What's more important - the front or the back?
In my opinion the front is more of the eye catcher. However there is a pic from the back of me walking down the isle that I will most likely put in my album.

Re: What's more important - the front or the back?
Lucky for you the dress you're talking about is beautiful from the front AND back. Don't dismiss the foldover in the front or the fabric or the way the shape compliments your curves. It doesn't need to have beads and bows and sequins in the front when you've got a rockstar body LIKE YOU DO!!!

I would defiently say the front of your dress. Though the video did have the back of my dress in a couple of shots.

Re: What's more important - the front or the back?
I chose my dress based on the front of it, but the back also had very pretty detailing that i loved as well.you need to choose the one that makes you feel the most special....
