Colonial, ranch, victorian, splanch, high ranch, etc?
I'm curious because I find myself always looking at the same style and wondered what some of you guys liked -- or if the style of house even mattered to you and DH?

Re: What type of house do you normally gravitate to?
I love Colonial style homes I love when all the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor
I love the set up of my house, its 4 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs, half bath on the main floor and full bath in the basement
Its perfect for the 2 of us now.

In San Antonio, TX where my Aunt Lives this house would go for $180-$200K at the most!

I love Victorians and colonials. We haven't bought a house probably because I want one of those and they are still a lot of money.

i love victorians and colonials, but cannot afford them. there was a split that i LOVED, so we really liked that style too, but they tend to have small basements, which DH would never go for. DH likes ranches because of the large basement. what he didn't like were capes, yet that's what we're buying. it's rear dormered, so that's what made it OK for him.
I think capes are my least favorite because usually the ceilings in the bedroom are slanted and being that DH is 6'3 that doesn't work well for us. But when house hunting i always seem to click on capes because they are cute -- then when i see the slanted ceiling i get sad.
You can always dormer to make the ceilings upstairs higher.

I own a cape and like them, but like them a lot more when they are dormered. I also love Victorian houses!

We like condos a lot - so, we are looking for those first.
If we do get a house we like colonials (center hall ones are nice), ranches, and capes.
We are trying to stay away from hi-ranches or splanches - they are the most difficult for re-sale.

I like Victorian and Colonial. Anything that has a more traditional style I will look at. I was looking at houses a few months ago and I want a HUGE kitchen lol!
