What was the worst job/maybe first job you ever had and what did it pay???

I would have to say CVS Pharmacy and $5.00 an hour.

How the hell did I buy College books on that????

ETA: I think one of the worst days for me was when a customer wanted to return Nads bikini waxer because she said it irrated her.

As I proceeded to give her the refund, she pulled down her pants on the sales floor to prove it to me!!!!!!

Nasty biotches!!!

Re: What was the worst job/maybe first job you ever had and what did it pay???

awesome thread

yeah, nothing like a crappy job to encourage extra study sessions, huh?

I had 2 glorious jobs:
the first (1989) was opening mail at a mortgage bank. I sat in a chair and slit open envelopes, stamped the date received and circled the loan #.... ALL DAY LONG. It took me 10 days to get a horrible back ache, and only 2 days to get a horrible attitude. It was this point I realized I hated office environments... $5/hour......

2nd (1990-1994) was fitting room attendant at filenes basement. I worked P/T while an undergrad. Also started at $5/hour.
God, that room STANK LIKE FEET, and everyone was condescending.... especially the managers. I actually was told by one of them that I'm not bright enough for customer service.... can't tell you how great it was to bump into that woman several years later, and tell her I was getting my PhD the following week

Pudgie's Fried Chicken. I was there for all of a month and I couldn't tell you how much it paid. But it was NASTY coming home smelling like fried chicken every day!

Wonder whatever happened to Pudgie's....my family LOVED to order from there.

Dunkin' Donuts!!!! junior year of high school- 1996-1997.....don't even remember what minimum wage was then (not a lot less than what it is now sadly). I was actually promoted to 'filler' of the donuts after being there for like 6 months! damn I left such a promising career behind!! damn good thing I worked there while my metabolism was lightning fast, I would've definitely expanded my waistline faster than I did my bank account!

I give you girls credit for trying out fast food places... I wouldn't have lasted 3 min there.... (I would have snarfed up all the jelly and chocolate munchkins and been fired for stealing )

seriously, I don't know how we didn't get fired, at the end of the shift (it was 6pm-midnight) we'd have munchkin fights w/ the leftovers! and that was the year that me & those glazed bowties were just inseparable!!

seriously, I credit filenes to give me the drive to go to grad school..... I'm sooooo glad I escaped retail hell..... moral of the story: while most people are generally friendly, there are some MAJOR A-holes.... and they make working with the public miserable....

JCPenney in the fine jewelry department for the holiday season. It was $7 or $7.50 per hour plus 5% commission on all fine jewelry pieces I sold. My commission was more than my regular pay! It would have been great if the chicks I worked with weren't biotches!
