What was your most generous and not so generous wedding gift?

My not so generous was $0
After that I would say $50.00


Most generous was $1500.00



Still can't believe some people didn't even give us a card. Weird huh?????

My not-so-generous was $0 [no card, nothing, and that was from my aunt & her whole family, and my uncle & his whole family... so that's 15 ADULTS total... close family members... NOTHING... they made it clear later that they did it out of spite though]... that was my most shocking definitely.

After that, $30, from a friend who came and brought a date (I'm not really judging on this one though, I'm just glad she showed up.)

My most generous gift (not including our parents) was $1,000 from a few close family members (but this wasn't that shocking). Some of our friends were VERY generous, more so than we expected (since some of them don't have too much to begin with), which we really appreciated so much.

I had some people bring nothign because i know they didn't have it. I was just happy for them to be there.

My generous wedding gift was $2000 (Thanks Mom!!!)

and the least was $150 from one of DH's married friends.. ($150 was ok from 1 person, but NOT a couple)

Other than that, I can't complain about any of our wedding gifts..

Some of DH's friends didn't give anything.
As for the most generous, we had 2 that gave the same amount. It was my dad and DH's grandmother. It was A LOT of money!!!!!!!!!

ok and i thought my cousin and her family of 5 giving us $50 was bad but 15 people = $0. That one is a winner. How cheap!!

I would have to say alot were generous really no complaints. I also had people who I just wanted there. I knew they were on hard times and it didn't matter if I got a gift or not. I just wanted thier presence.

We got $0 from one of DHs friends, although he gave us a card with a check after the wedding, but we can't cash it until he tells us. Next in line was a $15 photo album from one of MILs friends. The most generous gifts came from our parents who paid for the wedding. Next, one of my close friends gave us a very generous gift.

well, we had some who still didn't give a gift..... we also got a cappuccino set that likely cost under $20.... but it was still a sweet sentiment.

the most generous (outside the parental units who gave us TONS.....) was my aunt and uncle from germany who gave us 5k + a piece of priceless modern art......

Most generous- $9,000 (Thanks Mom and Dad)

We had 2 people who gave NOTHING!! And one of those 2 people brought a guest!!! I'm sorry but if you don't have the money for a gift, then don't bring your bf of a few months!

My Uncle & Aunt gave a HUGE gift (but I guess Mom's trumped everyone of course). Mom's friends were sooo generous as well.

Not so generous? A teapot! One I registered for but....yikes. And the gift came AFTER the wedding.
My brother in law's dad came and gave $50 but for some reason that did NOT shock me.

We DID have one couple that didn't give a gift....we still wonder if they had a clue. Never even got a card.

not so generous - (given by the best man & usher)

nothing, not even a card (this is after one of them asked us to bring a date even though he's not going out with anyone & no one single was invited with a date because we have big families)

most generous - 6 thousand big ones

We did have a few GENEROUS GIfts!!!

not so generous- a good fried gave me a No name brand watch ....with DEAD batteries...

oh well....

Everyone was more generous than we expected... I'd say the most generous gift was 1,000€ from DHs uncle who is apparently tight with money and doesn't give it to anyone (dh was REALLY surprised) and also 1,000€ from one of his Grandma's which is crazy because she is like 85 and doesn't have much money to begin with.

Also I have to say that I think it was generous of my family and relatives who came all the way over to Europe for our wedding to give us a gift on top of what they had to pay just to come.
