I would be pissed and I would let DH know. There's really not much you could do but I would definitely let DH have it to make sure he doesn't pull something like this again. Clearly his mother was wrong and I hope they both feel stupid. Give MIL the pee stick and tell her she gets to change it and burp it.

He is going to do this, this weekend. He wants to talk to her in person. I am glad that he is being pro-active about it.

Im glad it was worked out. Im sure no harm was meant by her. Some peoples filters just 'work' differently.

I just finished talking to Dh.. He feels awful for leaving it out. He had good intentions but he didnt want to wake me when I was already sleeping last night. He is going to speak to his mom (nice as possible) and let her know that the topic is not to be discussed unless WE bring it up!
Thanks ladies
Good, now we wait to see how she reacts lol

Re: What would you do? (semi - long)
My mom does this all the time when I say I am sick or tired. She has not said you look prego but you might be. I hate when people say that. Its like I am just sick. That's rude and annoying that she called you at work. When she gets sick say to her are you prego!

It could be worse, when I got back to work from the honeymoon people were looking at my stomach asking me if I were pregnant.... that's a little uncomfortable and I still fee so self conscious.

Wow. Thats over the line to call you at work and insist that you should 'look into that'. Sorry you had to deal with that

Re: What would you do? (semi - long)
i *think* what i would do is just tell MIL that it's inapproriate and you would prefer that she keep her big as s mouth to herself (in a polite way, of course) and just tell DH what you intend to do instead of having your DH do it. of course, if i was actually in the situation, i have no idea what i would really do.
but, i do find it really rude that 1) she knows you're not planning on having children and 2) continued to argue her delusion even when you said that you weren't pregnant

wow, the fact your mil knows you both plan on no kids, is by far crossing the line. she even knew she was crossing the line by admitting it, but apparently admitting that made it ok for her to still apparently ask.

Does your MIL really want grandchildren? maybe she wants you two to have a kid so bad that any little sign she will get hopeful. Just bc you had allergies and were tired and stuff, most ppl wouldn't just assume you are pregnant, only if its something that is on their mind a lot, so maybe that is the cause of it.
