What's the strangest gift you received?

Just trying to get some conversation going on this board...

What's the strangest thing that you got for your wedding or shower?

One of DH's friends got us a hammock and a 7ft light up palm tree! We're having a hawaiian themed party just so we can say that we used the tree once.

We received some very strange really ugly love statue for our shower/engagement, its very weird looking..........But it is a symbolic statue that has a meaning, but we think its so so ugly, its stored away deep in the closet....Ha ha ha, Thats about it. Its the thought that counts right, we are appreciative of receiving it though

We received a croquet set as a wedding gift. We live in an apartment building--don't even have a backyard...

We received Lenox bunny rabbit candle sticks... I have NO idea when we'd use something like that.

But it was from my sweet aunt who is delicious so I wont mock them.

we received 4 breakfast plates which look like they are a part of a cappuccino set (pictures of steaming hot coffee).... but no mugs

I did get some weird things in the wishing well like hand knitted couch doilies of some sort...I actually don't know what the heck they really are.

I did get a cheapo gift (sorry if I am coming off as not being very gracious but I can't stand the person that gave it to us anyway.)

I invited my VP (who thank God isn't my boss) to the wedding purley out of obligation. He came with his wife and as a gift gave us 8 pilsner glasses at $2 each. I recently found out he went to one of my coworkers weddings last year and gave her 'A' towel. Not the set 'A' towel.
This is a man with $$$...cheap arse!

We never got it, but one of DH's friends made us a 'dining room table' which converts into a Beer Pong table.
DH saw it at the last beer pong tournament he went to with his friends and said it was really beautiful with crown molding and everything around it.
Although I'm not so sure whether I would even use it as a dining room table now that I know its history.

yes! But a VERY happy woman in Kansas who collects all things bunny rabbits was VERY happy to receive them!

I had registered for one of those shower curtain rods that bend outward to give you more room in the shower. Someone bought it for my shower and when it was wrapped it looked like a shot gun everyone at the shower was hysterical. I didn't think of that of that when i was registering

I got a framed 11X 20 portrait. The frame is gorgeous, our wedding date is engraved on the bottom and the picture inside is of my husband and..... the best man.

PS..this gift was NOT from the best man...it was from someone else.

I got a cake saver (didnt even have one on my registry) and um you could tell it was re-gifted...i have pictures of the look on my face at my shower 'um thanks'
