What's the strangest thing that you got for your wedding or shower?
One of DH's friends got us a hammock and a 7ft light up palm tree! We're having a hawaiian themed party just so we can say that we used the tree once.

DH's cousin (and wife) gave us a gift card to sears for $21.69- weird! as a wedding gift!
Maybe it was a store credit that they didn't want!

For my shower, I got a cookie press, which at first glance was a pretty good gift. That is, until I went to use it and realized it had be used. It had little bits of cookie dough caked on it. Can you say ewwwwwwwwwww?????

we got a $75 gift card to marshall's... neither of us have ever shopped there, its for clothing and on the card, there was a birthday cupcake with a candle on it, so it was probably a re-gift...

When I registered the guy in the store was showing me how to work the scanner and he scanned a peanutbutter cup he said to delete an item you do this and then he scanned the peanutbutter cup again to delete it. The day of my shower I received about 12 peanutbutter cups. It was never deleted off the registry and people thought it was funny that I would register for that.

we had a silver bowl on our wedding registry. It was the first gift purchased, 5 months prior to our wedding, and clearly said 'fulfilled' onthe registry.
One of our guests bought us a duplicate, but not from our registry. She got it from a different dept. store that her daughter works at, so that she could get the discount. Now, we're stuck with 2 of the same bowl........and its huge.
Its not a 'strange' gift, but the way it was done was cheap, and STUPID.

For our engagement party we recieved a piture and serving platters that are literally blue on the outside and neon green on the inside. They are hideous, DH won't throw them away b/c they are from his family, but he hates them as well.

Strange Gifts from the same person...
MIL's friend gave me a BLOW DRYER and a Rooster Clock for the Kitchen!
I remember opening the hair dryer and saying, thank you so much- It has a diffuser! that's so great! ... What the heck was I going to say about a hair dryer?????
returned them both to KMART and got 36.00 back!

What's even Stranger is that something was Brought off our Reg. & we never got the gift.
I kinda think I know who it is but it is kinda of awkward to ask them. I still don't know what to do.
