Ours was an native american pouch -with beads and fringes - Neither one of us is Native American so we have absolutely no idea what the significance of the pouch is or its purpose. Also the pouch is a bit stained as if it has been used.. - By the way - woman who gave it to us -approach me at our wedding to say that someone took her gift from us and hoped that it wasn't stolen by the staff. LOL

Re: What's the strangest wedding gift you received?
hmm how about, no gifts from about 10 couples???
one couple sent us a frame after the wedding as a gift, but at least it was on my registry.

Re: What's the strangest wedding gift you received?
thankfully i got all good gifts and even the 'stranger' ones had significance.
A horseshoe (supposed to be good luck when given to you by a child on your wedding day)
a bell ( again, another Irish tradition for good luck)
a statue of Mary... but from my Irish Catholic mother, it means a lot.

Re: What's the strangest wedding gift you received?
nothing really strange but we got a regift from DH's stepbrother and his new wife, that still had the original card in the box from the original gift giver who gave it to them! mind you, we gave them a really nice gift for their wedding and their 'gift' to us didn't arrive until 2 1/2 months after our wedding.

Re: What's the strangest wedding gift you received?
quite a few people, people who are close to us, didn't give us anything. That was pretty strange.
The only strange GIFT was a regifted wooden bowl that still had the original reciepts and card in it. It didn't resemble anything on any of our registries, and the friend who gave it to us actually asked us if there was anything left on our registries that we wanted.
We're invited to their wedding, and I think they'll be getting the bowl back along with all the original cards/reciepts
I'd rather get nothing, than an obvious regift, where the person didn't even think to check for the cards or anything.

Re: What's the strangest wedding gift you received?
Nothing strange but one lady sent the wedding gift way ahead of time...3 or 4 months before the wedding. It was something off my registry and I thought maybe she wasn't coming to my shower. But she came to the shower with another gift...I guess she just wanted to get it out of the way.
Then at the wedding she gave a card with money and a note inside explaining 'this is in addition to the mixer that I sent earlier'.

Re: What's the strangest wedding gift you received?
These stories are cracking me up.
My weirdest had to be a clearly regifted, ummm.....what do you call it......one of those fake crystal things you fill up with wine or alchohol and it has a stopper on top? Yea.....she gave that to me wrapped up (no box) inside a flimsy Plastic Plant Pot. LOLLOL
And then for kicks she threw in champagne stem 'charms' which basically look like little keychains your supposed to attach to the stem of your champagne glasses that have little sayings like 'Congratulations' and 'Welcome' and 'Newlyweds' Uhhhhhhh Yea.
It was by far the most useless object, nevermind gift, Ive ever seen!!!
Oh, did I mention I was in this persons wedding party 5 years ago but they never showed up to my wedding? She gave the 'gift' to her Mom to give to me.

Re: What's the strangest wedding gift you received?
A mattress pad from family and a cookie press from another cousin and his wife (Mind you...I gave them both better gifts when I was under 21 and went to their weddings alone!!) Guess that's what is typical out of state though. But they were on my registry!
