Where do you get your meat from??!!

I hate how expensive all the meat is in the food store. So I was wondering where everyone goes to get their meat and the best prices...?!?!

if i'm just throwing together a meal after work, i'll usually run to the grocery store (and i HATE their selection but its just easier)
Otherwise we get a lot of our meat from Costco. It might be pricey but they have some of the best cuts. Plus it lasts us a while

The keyfood close to me has a real good selection of meat, nicely cut and everything I need.

I had gone to the trade fair not that far from me and oh boy was it a mess. I had one in astoria so was used to how that one is, its like a regular supermarket the one in astoria. But the one down here its all like economy type stuff and meat is cheaper but they dont have things. I wanted just regular steak and they didnt have, well they had these huge family packs and i couldnt get that bc they would go bad before i can eat them. Or wanted pork chops and didnt have that either. So although they have better prices, they dont always have what i need.

If I am grabbing something quick I'll go to a local store. We usually try to buy our meat from Costco. Its expensive to buy it all at once but it lasts like 2 months. When we get home I usually cut up whateve we got and package it in seperate ziploc bags.

I have to join Costco or just borrow my mom's card lol. But thanks never thought to go there.

wow it really lasts that long?? like ground beef and chicken, steak etc??

Joes Meats in New Hyde park. Its a butcher and I think its the best meat.. DH loves it whenever i get it from there

Edit to add.. I get my chicken at BJ's.

I buy from Meat Farms in Commack, Uncle Giuseppe's in Smithtown and Waldbaums... I pretty much buy only what's on sale and freeze what I'm not going to use immediately.

We usually get it at the grocery store when its on sale and try and stock up.

We also sometimes go to a amish market about 20 minutes from my house every know and then.

I buy large quantities at BJ's and separate it when we get home. It lasts us a while.
I usually buy beef and chicken cutlets (indiv. wrapped).

I usually will bulk up on the costco meats, other than that I go to anyplace like Western Beef or Stop and Shop for quick things.

I am pissed though, b/c I bought a $15 london broil from costco, and I was told I can cook it on an electric grill that I have and it will be fine. I ruined the meat lol I was so pissed off :( I guess I was also rushing and should've taken it out the night before to marinate it. :-/

Costco is good, my only problem is i have an issue with freezing meat basically i dont. I wish i can get over this bc it would be alot easier

I live in Queens and I get my meats from Trade Fair. They have the best prices.

I buy on sale at Waldbaum's because the turnover is pretty quick.
About monthly or every two months I go to Forest Pork Store in Huntington to stock up on my German groceries and to get some of the specialites like pork roast, smoked pork chops, different wursts and sausages, and their freshly ground beef.
I also buy at BJ's, but only when I shop on Long Island. The closest one to me in College Point is nasty.

yeah that is my thing as well..I have a fear the meat will be bad if I freeze it

But is Costco really expensive or worth it?
