I grew up in Brooklyn, so most of you probably don't know from these places.

Jack Duggan's (before I was 21)

Salty Dog
Delia's Lounge
and other random Bay Ridge bars
and sometimes random bars/clubs in the city

And very occasionally, Mulcahy's, where I met my hubby

I am a Brooklyn girl so mainly my friends and I went to bars in Bayridge. Some of my favorites Bullshots (my friends sister worked there), Canteena, Lilly's, the Salty Dog and a couple of other bars that I can't remember the name of. When we went to the city, we always ended up back in Bayridge.

Molly Blooms in Smithtown (now Myst) and Speakeasy in St James (now Shamrocks)

My lord, back in the day DH and I paid the rent and Lilco bill at Mollys!!!

When we wanted to go out for real, we would go to Planet Dublin (geez I am dating myself) and Mulcaheys (woo hoo a place that still exists!!!!)

Then I was single again for a year:

-Lily Flanigan's in Islip
-The Crazy Donkey
-Posh @ Garden City Hotel
-Random townie bars

Mostly Lily's- they had 3-fers on Thursday nights

ETA- Spent a ton of time at Mulcahey's (back when it was less like a club-I won't even go near there now), The Wantagh Inn and Boss Crokers

Fire Island all summer
Hunter in the winter - I met my husband at Slopes LOL

My other favorite places were
Wall Street
The Crazy Donkey
Mirage
Huntington Village (I can't think of the name of the bar...it's something irish, across the parking lot from the Dodger, it has an outside area. I can't believe I am flaking on this after all the nights I was there!)
Mulcahy's
Foggy Goggle
CPI
Beach Bar
Blue Honu
Victory
Nappertandys
And I loved Paddy McGees and the Island park places

ETA: And how could I forget the Boardy Barn???

OMG I used to go to the Dodger all the time !!! My ex was a bouncer there. I heard it's not there anymore ?! The bar across the street with the outside (i can't remember the name either) was cool too. I really liked Coco's too...it's a steak house now i heard ?

I think the bar was Finleys. Someone else wrote that (props to that poster!). The Dodger is still there but I hear it's more of a club and Lindsay Lohan hangs there. I'm not swearing that to be true that's just the word. Coco's is now Prime, a steakhouse that is owned by the same owners as Tellers.

This is a really good post!! I am sitting at my desk really concentrating on this trying to come up with a list:

Under 21
The Angle - in Mineola which had an alternative night and we would go and dance to the likes of The Cures, etc!!!

And then when I got older:
Nappers in Northport
Gunthers ' '
Finleys in Huntington
New York Avenue (to see the Scofflaws!! wow)
and just about every other Huntington bar

Dodger is there still just more of a club/lounge feel.
The bar I think your talking about is Rose and Thistle which is now a BIG parking lot. Unless you are talking about Finley's. That is still alive believe it or not.

Lindsay Lohan does not hang @ The dodger she tried to get into Finley's last summer but since she was under age they actually did reject her at the door, I am freinds with the bouncer that turned her away.

I loved Co's Co's Prime is nice but doesn't have the same feel that Co's Co's did. It is best to there in the summer outdoors is nicer than inside. ...
thanks for the post .. ah the memories
