Autism Speaks. I became involved with them after my nephew was diagnosed with autism and my niece was diagnosed with PPD.

i support MDA (I have MD) & ABTA (my father passed of brain cancer). My friend also started The Speak Foundation (this is kind of our temporary website. a better new one with more info is being made now) when she won Pantene's Wish Contest, and I am on the board of it. It is in place to aid youth with disabilities, so of course I support that as well. All very close to my heart!!!

Mostly charities geared toward children. I'm a Mom, Thank God my children are healthy, but I always think- That could be my son or daughter.
I try to donate to a diff. charity every month, only like $50, but it really gives you an amazing feeling.

DH and I have been raising and training dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind for about 8 years now! There is nothing like being able to give a person with a disability the freedom to be able to do things alone and feel safe as well as a life long companion
Plus, who doesn't love puppies!!!

regularly - St. Jude's and the 9/11 Memorial fund.
st. jude's - cause any foundation that helps to research cancer that affects children will have my heart
9/11 memorial fund - cause i'm a NYer at heart.
occasionaly - the american red cross, meals on wheels and an alzheimers one, i can't remember.

Coalition against Domestic Violence. I have always been involved since college bc of my sorority and I feel that this is such a huge epidemic that gets the back burner especially in the low income communities. St Jude's Cancer Research- i am all into helping the advancement of cures for children affected by terminal illnesses.

The Riverhead Foundation -DH and I are both volunteers for them. We are huge animal lovers so we jumped at the opportunity to help sea turtles, seals, dolphins and other marine life right here on the Island.
ASPCA-again, animal lover
American Heart Association - both my parents have had heart attacks and my family is prone to heart conditions including myself, as mild as it may be.

American Cancer Society (Many Survivors and lost loved ones) National MS Society (FIL) National Suicide Prevention (Cousin) Make A Wish (my sisters friend was given a wish by them) Charity Is - Provides wells with clean water in povished countries.

At work, we donate to United Way and I split my contribution up into different sectors. I also support Best Friends, a non-kill pet sanctuary. I sponsor a dog every year. And last few years, I've made a yearly donation to colon cancer foundation b/c my best friends mom was sick and recently passed away from the disease.

Liver Foundation because one of my closest friends had a liver transplant when she was 20.
And, Children International where I sponsor a kids for a few dollars per month.

ASPCA because DH and I do a lot of work in animal rescue and I think they do great things for all creatures.
Surfrider Foundation. When not volunteering at the animal shelter, DH and I are beach bums. I love SF's education and activism

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (for my very recently diagnosed 11-yr old cousin) http://www.lls.org/hm_lls
Canine Companions.. I adopted a dog from there growing up and it is such a wonderful organization that sets up disabled people with service dogs.
I also support Friends of Animals which is a great organization that allows you to purchase Spay and Neuter certificates and works with local Veternary clinics.
As a family we also support St Judes, which I think is an amazing organization that helps children.

Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program Meghan's Pansies: A Special Fund of the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program-My mother really enjoyed their programs and support during her battle.
