Who else is petrified of giving birth? w/ poll

Since we are on the baby topic.....We are not TTC, yet, but I am PETRIFIED of the whole birthing experience! Is it just me??

I am a big baby, and I fear that I am going to freak out w/ all the procedures in delivering.

Don't get me wrong, I cannot wait to be a Mommy, LOL, I just wish it was like when my Mom gave birth....they put her out, and when she came too, I was all pretty & clean in my pink blanket! LOL

Oh I'm terrified. My sister just had my beautiful niece in November. She was in labor for 34 hours.. Her water broke at 11am on Monday, and she didn't have my niece until 10pm on Tuesday....
I saw her before the epidural.... not something I ever want to see again!!
I told my sister I'm scarred for life thanks to her!!!

On the other hand, my niece is so amazing, and I love her so much, it's all worth it in the end!!

So true. It's like I know it will be painful, but its sooo worth it!

I'm not really so afraid of that but what terrifies me is the first night home from the hospital - kids don't exactly come with instruction manuals I just imagine myself sitting there thinking 'omg what do I do now?' and not knowing the baby well yet and not knowing what cries mean what

OMG!!! This is one of the reasons I am happy i don't want kids...and after being in the room with my friend for her delivery it just sealed the deal! haha...it was one of the most horrific things...she was in labor like 24 hours i think...and just had an awful time pushing...and the blood...granted she called me & said her second child's birth was not nearly as horrible & joked that i should've been there for that one instead!!! (i became her lamaz coach when her DH got shipped off for Navy reserves when she was preggo) Good luck ladies!!!

I'm scared because of all the things involved with labor but as long as hubby is there with me, I think I'll be ok. Although I want to be covered up 'down there' so he doesn't have to see all of that; just stay up by my head and keep me calm.

LMAO....that was the advice that my BF's hubby gave my hubby!

He said, stay up near her shoulders, and whatever you do don't look down there AT ALL!

I am scared s#$%less!!! I am not a big fan of pain and can only imagine that the first words out of mt mouth will be give me drugs, now!!! Seriously, giving birth is something that I am looking forward too, because I know as long as I have DH by side while I am going through this that I will be ok.

i am so excited to be preggo - i wanna have a big belly & wear adorable clothes...BUT - i do NOT wanna go into labor & the whole birthing process! It's weird, 'cause i have a really high tolerance for pain...but i just can't think about it! I KNOW the epidoral is gonna be my best friend!

Contractions hurt, but once you get the epidural, its fine. Honestly.

I would discourage anyone from going natural. But once I got the epidrual, I was FINE. People came to visit. DH's BF & his wife were hanging out. We watched tv and ate pizza.

Then comes the pushing, which is really hard work. But you girls can do it. You forget all about it. If it was THAT BAD, no one would have more than 1 kid.

i am also soooooo PETRIFIED!!

DH and I want to TTC soon, and im just sooo scared!

im afraid of everything that comes along with being pregnant... i really dont know how women like being pregnant... i cant see myself being like that at all!

once you pushed the baby out... how was it afterwards?? were you in pain at all? or does everything go away?

im afraid to ask any of these questions on LIF.. because EVERYONE ignores me over there.. its not cool

Im not really petrified, I am scared...the whole thought of squeezing somehting the size of a watermelon out of something the size of a lemon makes me queezy in so many ways, but I think I will be ok when the time comes

yea same here! meanwhile my little sister is pregnant with her 3rd! i dont know how she did it. im sooooooooooo worried
