Who else is petrified of giving birth? w/ poll

Since we are on the baby topic.....We are not TTC, yet, but I am PETRIFIED of the whole birthing experience! Is it just me??

I am a big baby, and I fear that I am going to freak out w/ all the procedures in delivering.

Don't get me wrong, I cannot wait to be a Mommy, LOL, I just wish it was like when my Mom gave birth....they put her out, and when she came too, I was all pretty & clean in my pink blanket! LOL

yes i am terrifed. i get squeamish when the gyno is all up in my business digging around.
i am going to try to be very brave but the episotomy is what has me FREAKED OUT!!
( It's the procedure where they have to cut you open from your vag to your butt hole)
i feel like i would never be the same again.

I delivered both of my sons ALL natural. NO NOTHING!!!! and both were VERY quick births.My first son Lucas who is now 9, I delivered in 20 minutes, and my 19 month old Blake I delivered in 39 minutes. WORK OUT while your pregnant if you can, it makes all the difference in the world. It also helps that I'm like 6' tall and well.....I have hips that are very suitable for giving birth. But as of now...no bambino's are in the future. Blake is my birth control.

yes, I am scared too! We don't plan on having kids for about 5 years anyway, so at least I have some time to work on getting over my fear. My sister-in-law is currently expecting her 2nd baby. Her 1st ended up being a c-section (which I find even scarier than natural childbirth!!!) and now she's planning to have a c-section for her 2nd. She seems so calm about it too! I can't imagine being that relaxed if I knew I was gonna get sliced open! But DH and I definitely want kids someday, so I'm gonna have to get over my fear somehow!

i'm so scared, i dont handle pain well.. I plain to ask to be put out like 2 weeks prior to delivery I wish!

i am TERRIFIED to say the least!
I think i was traumatized from two experiences:
1. When I was 13 my mom had my sister and she was having labor pains i really thought she was dying - what did i know?
2. all i have to say is The Miracle of LIfe - thats an all catholic girls hs version of birth control

As much as I want to have kids one day, the whole thing really does make me ridiculously nervous! Everything from the pregnancy through labor. But I guess that's normal, right? My sister just had her first baby in July and once she started having contractions, she wanted to try and stay home as long as possible, so she wouldn't be sitting in the hospital for hours and hours. Well, she almost waited too long because by the time they got to the hospital, she was fully dilated and ready to push...I told her she was lucky she didn't have the baby on the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway!! (clearly, she went the natural route..which i don't think i could handle!!)

i was scared to begin with and that statement just made it worse i hate docs, hospitals and needles... i think what would i rather natural or c-section... both scare me to death

Honestly, I'm not scared of labor or birth. That's probably got something to do with the fact that I've been through labor already. I was just fine & I know I'll be able to do it again. We're TTC now & the only thing that scares me is having to have another c-section. That part was awful. I fear having a c-section, but I don't fear having a natural birth at all.

That's a great tip! What kind of workouts did you do?

It's soooo worth it, and really not that bad. I mean don't get me wrong, it hurts, but it's not gonna kill ya!

Of course labor and delivery with DD was a true blessing!

forget about labor.... sure it's super painful and well, laborious. I've had numerous superpainful procedures done and I was ok.... becuase I only had to worry about me.

I'm much more worried about taking the little munchkin home!

several months of no sleep, trying not to hurt the little enchilada while it's still in it's 'floppy' stage

SO TRUE!!! If you work out it will be so much easier. I unfortunately was not so lucky-my 2 natural births were 23 hours and 12 hours!
