Who paid for your....

Bridal shower? My mom is ending up having to foot the bill for my sisters bridal shower....shouldn't it be the BM's and my mother?

Let me know! If it is the BM's...I am going to start harassing those heffas.

My mom and MIL paid for the place it was at. My BM's paid for some of the favors and extra stuff.

My dad & step mom paid for most of it, but aunt & grandma helped too...

my BMs paid for some small things too.

for years, i thought it was the bridesmaids who took care of the shower because it was bad etiquette for the bride's family to ask for gifts for the bride ... times have changed and i know the mother / MIL often now participate in the hosting of the shower ... that being said, i only had my sister as my MOH (no other bridesmaids) so my sis & my mom hosted the shower, with some help from my MIL & SIL ...

This is what I always thought too, but I think my mom footed most of the bill. The BM's helped organize the games and the happenings during the shower, but my mom paid for the place, food, favors, etc.

My parents paid for mine. My mom is a little bit of a control freak, asked for help with some things but they paid the whole bill.

My Mom paid for it. MIL got the flowers (CPs) though. BMs weren't asked to contribute.

Thanks ladies! I thought the BM's paid for most of it. I didn't have a bridal shower..so I didn't know.

So, do you think I should ask them if they would like to contribute..or just leave it alone?

my mom said my BMs contributed but i dont know how much!

My mom paid for entire Bridal shower (place, favors, prizes, cake, etc) and DH husband made my card box. The only thing my BM's and MOH did were photo CP's and some of the prizes.

My mom- the BMs paid for some stuff but... eh it was complicated. If I was a BM, I'd offer to help pay.

Well, I only had a MOH and a junior bridesmaid, so originally I was not going to have a shower because it would have been left up to my MOH for the most part to organize.

My MOH insisted I have one and I was like OK.....she had told me that my SIL had wanted to help her organize it. But of course my SIL wanted to do something cheap, and if I was going to have a Bridal shower it was not going to be cheap.

So my MOH, my mom, my relunctant SIL and even my DH helped pay for my bridal shower.

my moh, mom and mil paid for mine.

DH paid for the restaurant..

mom paid for everything else... my bms did all the legwork (planning, decorating, finding vendors)

DH paid for the place we had it (due to some drama of my family and me almost not having one)

My sister did the cps, I provided the favors, my BM's did the games

my BMs organized my shower! It was at MILs house but all the food and stuff was paid for or made by my BMs

my sister and sister in law... my 2 Matron's of Honor.
My mom wanted to contribute, so they allowed her to do flowers...

My parents paid for mine. My MOHs bought a few items, but my parents paid them back for them.

How close are you with them? If you have a decent relationship with them, go ahead and ask. If not, it might be a little awkward, but I think it's totally plausible for you to ask for some help.
