who's husband asked your parents for your hand in marriage?
and when?
My husband took my parents out to dinner and asked them and then he popped the question 4 days later. I was completely surprised.

I know he told my mother beforehand, but I am not sure he technically 'asked for my hand.'

Len went to my Dad's house 2 weeks before he proposed and asked for my Father's hand. I was so happy and pleased.
That one act earned him so much respect in my Father's eyes, it's unbelievable. Len can now do no wrong.

My Dh asked my father's permission in the beginning of April, and he proposed at the end of May. On a side note...my dad didn't tell my mom in fear that she may spill the beans. Still, 2 years later my mom is still mad about that! But he was right, she couldn't have kept it a secret

Mine called my parents up and asked them if he could come over. He was so nervous....but he did look good in thier eyes. He then asked me 2 days later!!

My FH went and asked my dad the day after our one year dating anniversary.... then popped the question 3 and a half months later.... as someone said earlier, that earned him sooooooooooo much respect!

Michael asked my dad at his house, and then called my mom on the phone,
I think it was like 2 weeks before he popped the question

I don't think Al really asked 'permission' but he did let my dad know he was proposing about a week in advance.
He asked my dad not to mention it to my mom (who I talk to everyday day and would have been too excited to keep the secret) so Dad was tortured all week waiting for us to call with the news...

MY DH got all dressed up in a suit and went over to my Mom's house to ask her for my hand. He also planned to ask my oldest brother, since my Father has passed. Just so happens my brother was at my Mom's when he went, so he asked them both together. Can you believe they both kept it a secret for two weeks!

Oh geez...mine didn't ask my mother or my (step) father! If he even gave any sort of idea to my mother that he was even thinking of marriage the whole world would know! After we got engaged and told my parents my mother 'made' him ask for permission as a big joke (they just wanted to see DH squirm b/c he was so very shy with them...even after 7 years). My parents got a good laugh out of that one!!!

Mine did. He called my dad at work and also my mom. he asked both of them.

Mine did! He took my father out in the yard to ask him a question about the 'satellite dish.' At least that's what he told me they were doing....
This was right before we left for our trip to Disney where he proposed.
From what I hear, he formally asked my father for 'Permission to marry your daughter.'

My FH did - my parents are divorced, he asked my Mom one day when he was here but I wasn't home from work yet and then asked my Dad when we were away for a family reunion. Here I thought they were just going to buy a round of drinks at the bar and they really went for a walk and he asked him.
It really meant a lot to my parents and I even think my Dad was a little shocked that he asked him.
