The second you get married people start asking about kids

Do people really have no idea how rude, inappropriate and annoying this is???

If I have to say HOUSE before kids again I'm gonna scream.

Can I reply with:
When was the last time you went to the OBGYN?

So didn't sleep last night huh?

Someone has to do laundry right?

When are you going to lose that extra 10 pounds?

I think it's because most people feel like that's the next step. I try to look at it as a good thing..Like they have enough faith in us that they want us to have a baby...at least that's what I try to tell myself when it irritates me

I dont think that people to it maliciously, but it is really just STUPID

dont people realize it is NONE of their business

So, since it bothers me SO much, I have come up with a new response:

'Actually, I hate kids and since I already work with 920 of them, I think that's good enough'

The other question I HATE is 'So, how's married life?'

I just NEVER know what to say. So I stumble on my words, and then I ... and then I usually say 'Same as before, just more jewelery!'

Most of the people who ask are the ones who *really* don't want to know the real details!!!

I agree its a totally annoying nd unnecessary question...but it does fade. For example, i dont think weve been asked for a good 5 months already! So it does get better.

Totally agreed...and it got WORSE for us when we found out at the wedding that both our sisters are pregnant. At the wedding we were immediately asked so when you gonna catch up

the day of the wedding i received comments and i just replied you know what if i could I would but I cant right now so i wont... basically giving them the answer they dont want to hear! haha no explanations necessary...unfortunately its just one of those things that you just have to deal with people

Just do like we do and tell them we aren't trying to have babies yet but we sure have a lot of fun practicing!!! That usually shuts them up

Because people are nosy...and rude. I tell them I have two furry kids and that is enough. Apparently there was some sort of casual bet in court as to when DH and I will have kids.

People seriously have nothing better to do!

I say that too! And I tell them during that time of the month that I know with medical certainty that I am not preggo (like this month when I was naseuous, but because family court smells bad)...and then I tell them i can show them.

Those people stopped asking me!

we made it clear right away, don't even think to ask us about kids until we have a house, and thank goodness, no one has bothered us yet.

to be fair though, DH's younger brother has been married for 5 years so ALL of DH's family asks them about kids - so we were candid right away to make some kind of statement to avoid all the questions.
