Re: Wisdom Teeth
I had all 4 out in one day with novacaine and was fine that day. I was out and doing errands a few hours later.
Make sure you ice it alot (20 min on/20 min off). That is important for the swelling.

The NEXT day. Holy!! I had 2 taken out a few years ago but one was impacted so it took me like 3 days.
This time its only 1 but the tooth has grown in alot so Im worried it might be painful again.

Were your impacted or just taken out because they were growing in?

Re: Wisdom Teeth
Bottom or top? when I had the top wisdom teeth extracted I was fine the next day. The bottom wisdom teeth took a few days for me to recover, maybe 4 or 5 days?

Re: Wisdom Teeth
i had them extracted - 3 at once (i had one done previously) they were all impacted so i was put under and had stitches and all that good stuff.....i was recovering for about a week - i had bruising on my jaw that came out about a week afterwards - like yellow and green bruising - and i was really swollen for the first 3-4 days.....i had a bad recovery.....i took a lot of percocet i have a terrible pic of me afterwards i can send you via FM but i rather not scare you hahahahaha......i had a bad case so that is why my recovery was worse - but i am not telling you this to scare you - no matter how bad it is as long as you have drugs you will be fine

Re: Wisdom Teeth
honestly i think it depends on the person, the doctor, and how bad the tooth is impacted and such. i've had friends that just got them pulled normally & were fine in two days... dh has his done..it was slightly impacted, and it took him a GOOD 5days to feel normal...

yep mine was a bad case - but even though it was bad it wasn't horrible b/c i was so drugged up - which was fine - i watched a lot of tv and slept - so what im trying to say is even if its bad its not that bad.....so dont worry!

Re: Wisdom Teeth
I had mine done over Christmas break from College- it was done on a Friday- and I felt better Monday, but I was swollen because I had an impacted one for at least a week.
my friend's mom had this awesome ice pack that wraps around your head- that helped a lot- I would look for that at the drugstore
eta- I had 5 taken out at once & was put under & needed stiches

Re: Wisdom Teeth
it definitely depends on the person. I had all 4 taken out and I feel like it took a few days for me to recover and for the swelling to go down.

Re: Wisdom Teeth
I had all four taken out at once, the day before Thanksgiving during my senior year of college. It actually took way less time to recover than I thought. I didn't really have swelling or bruising, though I had to stick to eating soft food for a few days.
