Would you ever yell at your aunt?

Would you ever yell at your aunt?

I ask this because I was raised always respect your elders (OF COURSe there are exceptions, but this exampleis not one of them)
My whole family was raised this way, but yesterday my cousin, yelled, cursed and screamed at my mother and then our aunt. She basically is driving a wedge in between the families. Now we are all adults and can speak for ourselves andmost of it has been calmed down and resolved, but the part that irritates me is that a 33 year old woman thinks it is OK to b!tch out her mother's sisters.
Neither 'aunt' did anything but express their opinion that hse needs to gain perspective about her life. And my cousin has a lot of stress, but is taking it out on the wrong people, IMHO

Now there is a lot of stuff going on, but above and beyond that, do you think it is OK?

Cause in my opinion, she needsto be b!tch slapped.

never. I try not to yell at my own mother, let alone her sisters.

I did once because she REALLY was out of line..LONG drawn out family drama that stems froma 'deep dark secret' so not going to blab it, but: yea..didn't go over well. If your parents are close to her, it might cause more drama like it did for me. My mom ended up not speakign to me for months even though my aunt was in the wrong. so just be aware it might be encessary, but the consequences could be BAD!

I do believe in respect to your elders, but i also believe respect is for EVERYONE and you must earn it. I dont care how odl you are; if you act ghetto or act crass and like trash, you're not going to get the treatment I reserve for those older than I who I consider wiser. I will be polite until i cant take anymore, but its not boundless respect.

Gneerally though I would say avoid the yelling at the aunt.

i have to say - i have a cousin who did this to my mother....worst part? one of my CLOSEST cousins, and a very close neice to my mother..and to top it off - it was over the most STUPID immature situation...afterwards we were all like 'wth just happened???' 'cause it didn't even make sense for her to flip out! She still to this day has never apologized & it was never even brought up again by her family....my mom actually even wrote her a letter saying how hurt she was. Needless to say their relationship has never been the same. I too was brought up to 'respect your elders'....even if an aunt/relative royally pissed me off, it wouldn't even be a thought in my head to go off & scream & curse at her. I just wasnt raised that way...there's a way to talk about things, and even disagree if someone gets out of line - but i would never cross the line like that. if i was that angry i'd tell her i was hurt/angry/or whatever - try to resolve the situation & if not, walk away and demand an apology later.
