My husband told me he was trying to win me some $35000 ring for a fraction of the cost and it had a bigger rock than my actual ring with side stones and all. well, he wasnt able to get it but he asked me if he had would i have traded it in? I said ...absolutely not! there is no way i would ever change the ring he chose for me or trade it for anything else! there is too much meaning behind it and i could never part with it. How do you ladies feel about trade-ins?

No never. I would not want to part with it. DH picked it out himself, and afterwards, he insisted I look at the other rings in case I saw one I liked better. There were none I liked better--he did a great job choosing, and even for a bigger stone, I wouldn't want to part with this.

No...never! I would never change the setting or trade it for anything in the world. My DH picked this out himself. It's a symbol of his love for me...this ring will be with me forever.

Re: Would you trade in your e-ring?
Nope! The stone in my ring is my Mother's. I could of had a new, better grade, bigger stone, etc, but that all was not important to me. I chose to have my Mother's stone which means more to me than having the shiniest, biggest, clearest diamond in the world. I also chose my setting so to me no ring in the world can compare to mine.

I'd love to change the setting to a platinum...but my e-ring is my great grandmothers' diamond and my grandfather had given it to my grandmother.

I would keep my eng ring and take the new ring and make myself a tennis bracelet out of it.

NO WAY!!! I love my ring and dh did something super special with it. We met on July 17, 1999 so he got me a ring with 7 stones and 1.7 carats. So my ring is 7 1.7 just like our anniversary :0)!!! Nothing could make me give that up.

I would never trade mine in, even if we won lotto. I would gladly accept another one for the other hand though!

Re: Would you trade in your e-ring?
Honestly, I don't think my ring is the thing that has all the meaning. It's just a ring. Do I love it, yes. Is it the be all and end all of our relationship or our engagement? No, not at all. I don't think I'd ever trade it in, just because I love it, but if I ended up not loving it anymore, then why not? It's not like I love JT any less. Maybe I feel this way because I picked my ring out, or maybe just because in my family, all the women have different wedding bands and rings that they wear. I don't know. I'm just not the type of person to put so much meaning into a piece of jewelry. UNLESS, it had been passed down to me. Other than that, eh, I love it, but if the day comes where I don't love it anymore, then I don't see the problem with getting another one. This is just my honest opinion. And I'm not sure I understand how winning another ring is the same thing as trading in your original one? Why can't you wear both? I would! It's not like when you have your second baby, you don't love the first anymore.
