Wuthering Heights

Anyone???

There was a reference to WH in a book I was reading so I felt compelled to pick it up again and I'm SO glad that I did! Enjoying every moment!

I read the first quarter of the book on the beach so I figured I'd share if anyone is looking for a delightful and classic summer read!

Re: Wuthering Heights

I've read that like six months ago. I actually hated it. I wanted to like it so badly, but I didn't find the characters redeeming AT ALL (which I think might actually be the point).

I'm glad you are enjoying it, though!!!!

Re: Wuthering Heights

I read it earlier this year for the first time. I was having drama with the crazy ex who thinks I'm Catherine and he's Heathcliff, which shows what a sicko he is.

There was a REALLY interesting miniseries version on PBS that's available on Netflix streaming. They changed the story a bit, but I found it interesting and really pretty to watch.

Yeah, same here. I thought they were a bunch of awful people and I didn't wish anything good for any of them. I haven't read it since high school though.

I totally agree with both of you in that I can't relate or connect with any of the characters but I agree - I think that is part of 'the point'....

What I'm really enjoying is emily bronte's ability to take you to the late 1800s english countryside
