WWYD??

The other day I got in a cab and I looked over and there was $40 on the seat next to me. I picked up the money and told the cab driver that someone lost money and I gave him the $40. He thanked me and the other passenger in the front seat (we share cabs in Hoboken) was like 'wow, you should give her half of that' .. I said - no, you dont have to do that but he wouldnt let me pay for my ride when I was getting out.

Would you have given the money back?

I would have done the same thing but then I would have contemplated afterwards if I should have just kept the cash haaaaha!

i'm not sure if i'd give the cab driver the money ... but i would try to call the cab company and ask them if someone reported money lost ... i have a feeling the cab driver just kept the money for himself ...

still - you did the right thing. it's only $40 ... not worth getting bad karma over it

Yup! I am a big believer in paying it forward...

now if it was on the sidewalk and I didn't see who dropped it.... I'd call it a WINFALL!

This exactly. There was actually just a big old post about this on LIF. Then someone came by and said everyone who said they'd give the money back was lying. It was silly, but interesting.

yes, i believe in karma. i would definately have given the $ to the cab driver.
i would do the same if i saw someone drop/leave behind $.
