Ditto..well for me at least. DH wants a family but I am perfectly happy with our furry one. He wants a human one. That's where we differ

Nothing wrong with this! Its your choice! Its better to have babies when you actually really want them lol Not just because you CAN or you feel obligated since your married.

im just too selfish. I was all snuggled up in my bed last night, falling asleep around 8pm, dozing watching tv and DH came in and wisked us off to dinner out. I am not ready to give up what I want to do when I want to do it. With a baby, I cannot do those things .... am I horrible for being totally all about me

i totally agree!!! i like being able to say, 'i think i'm gonna go shopping today' and be out the door in 8 minutes

but you know what scares me the most?! if i were to ever be blessed with an 'accident' we would obviously welcome the baby with open arms, and i know in my heart that God would help us through it, but i will be sh*tting my pants lol

i think if i found out i was pregnant tomorrow i'd be terrified but excited all at the same time...and well - the 'readiness' just comes on it's own...that being said, at this moment i do NOT want or prefer babies yet lol. a couple more years to go i think... i also want dh to be ready as well & have a desire to have them..and right now i know he doesn't.

That is the way I feel too. My mom told me outright that I was selfish. But we disagree a lot on me having kids. Thank goodness DH and I are on the same page.

i don't think its selfish i think its smart.....you wouldnt want to have kids and then end up resenting them (and that totally does happen whether people want to believe it or not) - so its better to wait until you are ready to give up your wings

I am just petrified of the birthing process.. what comes out of where.. !?!?!? like many of you said, i just figured that after marriage, babies were just the natural thing and never even thought about it.. now i feel like i want to enjoy us.. and we have a cat.. so people are like, the mommy thing will just happen jsut like how you baby the cat..

im def in no rush, we just got a dog, thats enough for now, its like a practice run for having a baby lol, id like to get a house first, but even if we did get prego, i wouldnt be angry about it, its just not my plan right now

omg us too! we have a puppy AND a cat! so its like we have 2 children... one thats a little older and doesnt need THAT much work (aka the cat )

I agree. Not selfish at all. It's selfish to bring a child into the world who is not entirely wanted. And if liking your life is selfish then I guess people who have kids and wouldn't have it any other way are selfish as well. If that makes sense

I have 2 dogs at home and that is definitely enough for now, sometimes I feel like they are my children
