Its good that your admitting that your not ready yet, you dont want to bring a child into this world when your not ready, its totally normal to fee that way. Theres nothing that says you need to have baby fever asap lol...when people ask us that, I just say when the time comes thats all, they dont need to know everything. no worries!

As soon as someone asks when? or soon? I say STERNLY - nope, not now. we want to wait and enjoy life and people seem to get it.

How about spending time with my husband and travelling!??? Isnt that funner? Ok maybe that is mean, but I am sellfish right now and want my time and my hubby all to me and I like being able to Heheheh

but I am also petrified of the entire baby process! TTC, then actually BEING pregnant, then the birth process, and lastly, being a good mom. So, I definitely am in no rush at all!!!

i totally agree. whenever i say no babies for a looong time people look at me funny. i want to travel badly, like so many friends and relatives of mine popped out kids right away without being ready and then later on regret not taking their time and doing things for themselves. i want to to be selfish for awhile and do things for myself and DH, not have to take care of a child.

There is nothing wrong with that at all. Before we were married people used to ask all the time and I just didnt want to. Id be like, I like my life and Im not ready for the burden of a child.

Its funny because when your ready you just are and when your not your not.

Ive been living with DH 4 years and we've technically been together for 7. We've traveled together alot as well. Theres nothing wrong with not feeling the itch. Its nice to just worry about yourself!!

This is us too- definately want them someday, but we want to do so much first. I actually think its pretty rude of people to ask that- so I usually tell them I hate kids lol

Yup I am anti-baby right now and possibly forever but I know DH would want one eventually but not for at least 5-6 years. My mom is saying its too long but my younger sister is about to give her her first grandchild so I told her that should hold her over. Im 23 and my sister is 17. At my age I can not see taking on the responsibility, I have soooo much I wanna do (travel, career). I would never want to be in the situation my sister is in.

I am right there with you Jenn. I am 23 and not ready yet...financially or emotionally. DH def is not ready either. I mean I have bad BABY FEVER. I think it is bec I know people in my family having babies or that just had babies (but they are my cousins who are young- younger than me and it was an oops getting pregnant obviously) and that's why I have baby fever. But then I see what htey have to give up- my cousin settled in a job just to make enough to pay rent and support the child. He and the mother had to stop doing things they love- I think they have been out once together without the baby since he was born. etc. etc. I am not ready to give that up yet either. I want to start my career and have time with just DH and I. I mean our whole relationship was us being apart now we finally have time together- we dont want to be tied down in a way because we are going to have baby.

i am going to start using that reply too. I feel the same way you guys do. I want to enjoy some time with my husband and travel as much as possible. Once you have kids, its never just the 2 of you again. I feel bad sometimes because most of my friends have kids and i feel like i should be ready , but im just not. Hopefully i will feel differently soon.

Not at all! DH and I are very vocal about our dislike for having/wanting children. I think that is why most people haven't asked us the question yet lol

And who says that just b/c you have a house and are married means you should have a child? Is there a rule that states that as long as you have those things, then you can have a child???

My sister in law got pregnant before they were married, and that baby is just as loved as one that would've been 'planned' or anything like that. I think those 'rules' are kind of crazy, and if people start asking me if I am going to have kids now, I will just tell them that if they would like to pay the monthly expenses, and pay for their college and other things that come along with it, then SURE I will have a baby.

There is nothing wrong with you lol Don't give into any sort of pressures, and have a child when you are ready to have children. :-P
