xpost...really need help planning my Dad's 60th

I'm planning my Dad's 60th birthday party. I am really torn about what to do. He loves Belmont Racetrack...but he loves it because he loves to go there and gamble...he works really hard to pick out the horses.

Originally, I wanted to have the surprise party at Belmont. I figured we could start in the evening so he could still see a couple of races, but then have time to hang out with his guests...and we could get a DJ and have a party. Unfortunately, the latest that they can do is 3pm-7pm. So basically, the party is either going to be A) Everyone sitting around and watching races from a room all day or B) My Dad having to miss the races to have a party. It's his birthday. I know he is going to be watching the races. So what do I do??

A) Have it at Belmont, since he loves Belmont...but he won't really be able to do his thing.

B) Just have it somewhere else that night so he can do his thing at the track like he always does.

I'd have it later that night. He might not even want a whole big crowd there bothering him while he does his gambling thing. lol!

That is what I'm thinking. He stays up late on Friday nights handicapping, so he is going to get there and have all his work unraveled because he will need to greet the guests lol
