wear black to a christening? I am the godmother. I went shopping to try to find something cheery and left empty handed. Will I be talked about for years to come when photos are passed around.
Would fishnets be completely inappropriate? I'll say yes to that but all black is okay?
I have a black skirt and top I want to wear with a camel coat and peep toe black and camel shoes.
I know I know if I have to ask but I over analyze everything
Update: Since this came back the Christening was on Sunday and I did wear black. I had on a cream colored scarf (fat hider) so I wasn't totally dull (appearance wise anyway). I don't think anyone was looking at me, all eyes were on Declan

Black is classic. You're a blonde so you can claim you have 'sunshine' colored hair that needs a black background to offset it.
The pearls were a good idea. Wear red pee toe shoes and the priest might take notice.

like black means in mourning
i wore a black wedding dress and i was happy
so it doest mean all that garbage anymore
so many people feel comfortable in black that i dont think anyone would think twice about it

Yeah we just like p*ssing off our moms. I like black and think its appropriate all the time. But a black wedding dress, i am INTRIGUED, that sounds awesome!!!

I just wore a black dress to my niece's christening. And I plan to wear a black dress to my nephew's in 2 months. I always wear black though to any kind of event, happy or sad.
