Yet another friend's marriage crash and burns - record time!
I mean I don't take joy when people's relationships fall apart but it seems to happen to soo many people I know lately. My bf brother who got married 3 months ago just filed for divorce. I just couldn't get the 3 month divorce though. Sheesh give it sometime, i mean it had to be VERY BAD.
Right before our wedding a good friend of ours finalized his divorce with his cheating spouse. Before that there was a good friend that had FIVE KIdS married at 21 and now divorced. And there a few others just around the same time.
Anyone else having divorce hell going on around them? I just feel guilty since we got married and everyone relationship around us is going to an abrupt end.

I just think a lot of people are willing to give up on their marriage too quickly...
instead of sticking it out and making it work...
it's sad.

ding ding ding!!! we have a winner!
unless there is abuse happening--no reason to divorce so quick. its so sad how people now think divorce is just an 'out'. marriage is supposed to be for life people!
the shortest marriage i know of personally was about a year and a half. but they were the couple you just KNEW shouldn't be marrying in the first place

one of my best friends from college got married and divorced 4 or 5 months later..
it was confusing though b/c they were GOOD FRIENDS for over 14 years, dated and lived together for 2...
weirdest thing..

out of my friends we're one of the few couples that are actually married. Dh has a couple of married friends and no divorces so far.
The only thing i can think of for them to give up so quickly is probably somebody cheating.

ive mentioned this friend before (dh's friend age 25, got an 18 yr old knocked up last yr) . he got married to the same girl in june and already has been throwing the D word around like crazy. he walked out on her and the baby a few weeks ago saying he wanted a divorce. she says she has no love left for him (who knows) and its a constant back and forth with them. he did come back and their together again. but it annoys me to no end how easy it is for them to just throw around the D word after being married only 2 months. i know they shouldnt have gotten married in the first place but at least give it a chance and stop fighting over petty things.

Funny - I was the last to get married out of my friends also one of the youngest. I remember when we used to go out for GNO dinner .. or drinks and they used to live vicariously through my single girl stories. I would always think it is not so great on this side why are they soo bored w/the marriage. I only WISHED I was in their shoes.
Than it finally happened for me - MARRIAGE and well now they are slowly all dropping out of the married club and if they are not having MAJOR issues they are getting separated or going through divorce So now they plan all these single things to do and I cannot relate all over again , or nor can they to me
I think that is also why I love some of you girls on here

omg this is one of my biggest pet peeves. when couples throw the D word around for the STUPIDEST THINGS and think its okay. grrrrr
its such a serious thing that just shouldn't be taken lightly. nowadays its like couples are so immature and marrying for the wrong reasons and they just think 'Well if you don't do it like i WANT -- then I want a divorce!!!'

That is such a shame I feel so bad. I know a few people that are going through a divorce right now . It is very sad to see what they go through especially when it is an ugly divorce and not on mutual terms. Mostly I feel bad for the children (if their are some involved).

him: wanna go to the beach with us tomorrow? me: whos us? him: who do you think? me, steph and the kids me: um....last i heard u were getting a divorce and u walked out on her.
....silence
him: yea i did but that was yesterday.

two of my cousins are getting divorced this year. one got married this year and is getting divorced after 3 months. the other has been married 3 years. people seem to either 1. give up to easily and 2. don't get to know each other long enough beforehand.

do you know whats crazy?
if you marry & divorce in like 3 mos--chances are you probably agonized longer over which DJ to go with or what gown to pick or where to go on your HM than you did on whether to stay married!!!
Priorities people---PRIORITIES!

We joke that a couple being in our wedding album was the kiss of death for their marriage. I'm so glad I can edit that album anytime I have a spare $85 laying around. I think I'll wait until everyone gets it out of their system, so I don't miss anyone.

I used to think that cheating was the only divorcable offense.....but now I am beginning to rethink. Yes i do believe that people give up on their marraiges too quick...especially for stupid things...but there are big problems that people go through that we probably don't even know about that they hide. Life is way too short to be absolutly miserable.....I know personally I am so happy right now but if I was miserable every day of my life before kids...I think it's better in the long run for the future kids to not even get that far...I do think it's important to work at it though

Yeah, life is too short to be miserable... but how long do you WORK at something, before you throw in the towel.
EVERY marriage is a sacrifice... and a compromise... for people to say 'I'm miserable... life is too short!' is a cop out... Unless, of course you have tried every which way to work it out.
You loved each other enough to take vows... You owe it to each other to try and make it work.
