Your E-Ring

When you got married did DH get you a new e-ring? Did you use the same one he proposed with?

We used the same one. I have never heard of anyone getting a new engagement ring at the wedding.

I've read some ladies got new or updated e-rings.

same ring and will always have the same ring.

no offense to anyone, but i don't like the whole idea of 'upgrading' your e-ring... i think it's kinda mean and selfish and materialistic.... i think people should be happpy with they got and realize that was what he wanted to get you/could onyl afford to get you/etc. my ring is so special to me and even though it's less than a carat, i will NEVER change it. if he wants to get me something else in the future, great... but my e-ring represents what we were then and that i want toalways remember and maybe even pass down to my kid down the line....

You mean like an upgrade? If the one he proposed with was small etc... and was able to get you better one?

I love my E-Ring and wouldn't change a single thing about it.

I love my E-ring. I wouldn't change it. But even if I didn't love it, I still wouldn't change it because it is the one that DH took the time to pick for me so that makes it more special than any ring that I could pick out myself.

I agree with you..I find the upgrading thing very materialistic and unromantic

Me three. Dh had asked me what I had wanted as far as settings...we didnt talk about anything else really. The one I have is my 2nd but not by choice. Long story lets just say the first one did NOT appraise at what the seller (friend of the family) said that it would....so DH found another one. I love my ring and would never consider getting a new one, or bigger one.

I think DH would be heart broken if I ever even mentioned something like that

Nope, I would never trade in my e-ring for another, bc there is no other. I just started to wear my w-ring with my e-ring, and one day I might start to wear my w-ring alone, but I would never wear another ring with it and call that my new e-ring.

Why would he buy a new e-ring? The point is thats what he chose for me to wear for the rest of our lives. I've never heard of such a thing. Unless he got it out of a gum ball machine

I have NEVER in my life heard of getting 2 e-rings. If you're that rich, and have all other life expenses taken care of, and 2 diamonds are that important to you....go for it!

Personally, I'd rather spend the money on a new home or some savings or travel. But whaever makes you happy.

My ring was an heirloom ring, passed down over generations. I don't wear it every day... wearing big diamonds just isn't my style. I wear it once in a while........but I wear my wedding band every day....I love it!

I've never heard of getting a second engagement ring. What would be the point? The original ring you got the day you got engaged symbolizes the engagement. The ring you put on at the wedding symbolizes the marriage. I think most people don't upgrade their engagement ring after the wedding (too many other expenses!), but it's okay if you want to.

I love my Ering, I don't ever want another one. Maybe in the future I would trade my center stone for a bigger one (same cut though) but I absolutely love my setting.
