Your expertise requested...
Hi Newlyweds! I have a question for you all: Did you have/would you recommend getting a wedding/day-of coordinator? Or was the coordinator at the hall enough? Thanks so much!

Didn't have one and didnt need one. The asst. at the club was enough and with all my girls, MIL etc...there was plenty of people helping to make sure everything went off without a hitch.

Re: Your expertise requested...
we didnt have one, nor did we need one either, the guy from our hall was incredible, we had only 90 guests so I feel like a day of coordinator would have been a waste of money in our situation

I had one and she was great. She did all the little things that I would have stressed over if she wasnt there...and she also solved a couple of minor emergencies that would have been major if it werent for her quick thinking.

My Maitre D at Flowerfield along with my bridal attendant, were so much more than I imagined they would be. I had no use for a coordinator. Everything went perfectly!

I didn't get one either. I was told by the club that they were a waste of money. I was glad that I didn't get one since I really didn't need one at all! I will say I had 3 people working my wedding though.

You do not need one, but then again, you do not need a photographer or a valet park person. I can only tell you of my experience, namely, that having someone to do all of the worrying for me was a godsend and not expensive at all. I have more details on my review.

I had one and I am so glad I did. I hired Jodi from Simplicity Planning. I was having an out of town wedding with a lot of out of town guests and she kept everything running very smoothly. We used her from a lot more than just a day of planner though.

Didn't have one although I could've used one being that I was a LDB. But I still don't think it would've sit well with me to have somebody help plan my wedding - I'm too controlling!

Re: Your expertise requested...
I didn't have one, but I love weddings and loved the planning and was extremely organized. I assigned roles to people that offered to help the day of to help things run smoothly. (ie my mom's friend took the pictures off the table seating card table and brought them back to my Mom's at the end of the wedding, my cousin went up at the end of the ceremony and got the unity candle so it wasn't forgotten, etc.)I have been to many weddings where I could see why one would be necessary. One wedding I went to the bride was so crazed with the vendors and the guests, she wasn't eating, drinking, or dancing. I finally got her water, dealt with the videographer and practically pushed her on the dance floor.
Depending on how organized you are or how much involvement you want - I think a planner could be great!
