Your first fight after the wedding

Original post by Butterfly123

When was it and what was it about??? DH and I had a few fights this week. He was upset because I went to hang out with the girls and he felt like I should have been home since it was the week after our wedding. I guess cause we didnt go straight on a honeymoon and weve lived together for over 4 years that it wouldnt be a big deal! Anyway, now I feel like an awful wife. Am I??

Re: Your first fight after the wedding

Im sure you know that you are not an awful wife just bc of this incident!...well, I certainly hope so!!! You def didn't do anything 'wrong'...but just take it and use it...he obviously is really needing you right now. So give him some special attention.

I dont even remember our first fight after the wedding, so that tells ya something. In the grand scheme none of it matters. It may seem big in the moment, but it won't 6 mos or whatever down the road.

Gotta be honest, as for DH and I, arguments are very rare.

Thanks girls. I picked him up from work today and we had a nice dinner. He's happy again and we have all night today and all day tomorrow together. Thanks for making me feel better!!

Re: Your first fight after the wedding

We have had our share of words. The last being last night. We both know that we contributed to the disagreement. We just make sure that it's not done in the public eye. When we have a family we also do not want them to see this behavior since it can be very scary for them. I know from experience. I know that this behavior is normal once in a while.

My uncle says (a quote taken from my great grandmother) the best thing about a arguement is the making up. My mom says that marriage is work and communication. We find these very helpful to us and sometimes we need to remind ourselves to think about what has been told to us.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We had a nice argument on our Honeymoon!
All the built up stress from all the wedding nonsense , the sleep deprivation and that fact that we had been traveling for oh I dono over 13 hrs!

We arrived in Bora Bora at 10 pm at night and wanted room service. When my DH saw the price menu and that it was $50 dollars for a single hamburger w/out the $10- delivery charge he BIT my HEAD off! What kind of Honeymoon did you get me into!!!

I told him to SHOVE it but we made up hours later.
As it turns out we became friends w/the couple nxt to us and they too fought the first night. Much over silly things like this only they got locked out of their room on the back porch on the overwater bungalow.

In the end don't feel bad about disagreements or feelings of guilt because you have a different idea than he. As long as you work it all out in the end and have the communication it is all GOOD

OMG 50 dollars for a burger??!! It better have had diamonds in it he would have killed me!!! I totally get what you mean about not feeling guilty but sometimes I sit and think about what I could have done differently to prevent fights!! Im a dweller!! DH and I have very strong opinions so it seems like we bicker a lot. Plus, weve been together so long, it would be weird if we didnt bicker

Re: Your first fight after the wedding

our first fight was towards the end of reception. Our maitre'd took care of Vin a little too much.. Vin was, well, drunk. Which I asked him not to do.

No dice..

Needless to say- he did not follow the 5 foot rule & when it was time for pictures at the end of the reception, we were THISCLOSE to having one of the dj's assistants stand in.. no joke.

You can even see my annoyance on the video. You can read vins lips saying 'I love you more because I am not fighting on our wedding day'.... meanwhile it came out more like 'i luh you more cuz i am not fighting wis you on our wedding day'

Definitely don't feel bad...right after the wedding is decompression time, so naturally people get snippy. You are not an awful wife!

Our first probably was triggered by not feeling well and tension caused by family

Hmmm...I see both or ur points. I can understand why he would want you home because I mean, you are officially married now and he wants to spend time with you HOWEVER...if its been a week and you just want to hang out with the girls for a bit..I dont see the harm.

DH and I have had arguments...about his family...but I wouldnt say they were huge arguments.
