Your new last name...Are you used to it yet?

Both my parent's names, as well as my own (obviously) start with an F so all of our email addresses always started the same way - flopez. My married name starts with an L as well and now I always find when I start to email either my mom or dad I type fly...before I realize that's my name, nto theirs!

that's how I know I'm getting used to my new last name!

I am not used to it at all. Even last week i went to make reservations for my DH and i at a restuarant and gave it under my maiden name..

I am barely used to talking about 'my husband' in conversations. I mean using the actual word husband

I called my mom at work yesterday and asked for Cathy {my new last name} .. the secretary was like 'HUH?' I got confused.

Umm no, because I haven't changed it yet! It's like, one change at a time. Get used to my wife status first, THEN lose my name and identity!

So not used to it. Mostly when I say my name it is my at work, so & I still use my maiden name there, so on the rare occasions outside of work I have to give my full name it is weird. It is compunded my the fact that I am still not sure how to pronounce it !

I don't know why, but I am totally used to it. I think I say my new last name funny, but I always felt like I said it weird, which is odd because it's not a difficult name.

I am used to it already!! Only b/c I was using it long before we were really married. Now its just more fun since im not fibbing about it

I'm finally accepting the change and getting used to it. I changed all of my credit cards last week, so now everything is changed. It has been a gradual process, though.

I now think it is weird when people say my maiden name.

I LOVE my new last name, I lost 2 syllables and 5 letters. I love to type my new name on letters, I smile whenever I see it.

I am used to it, mainly because of work! I changed it right away here so now when I hear my maiden name I have to think about it! However I am still in the process of changing my credit cards which is a pain b/c right now every time I sign for something I have to think about what card I just used!

I did change mine at work, but it took me a few weeks after I did to get used to answering the phone that way

I haven't changed any of my credit cards yet. Sometimes I still feel a little funny saying it.

I don't think i will ever get used to it. I loved my very Polish last name. It was always a converation piece when someone saw it.

Yes, except the occasional lapse in memory. I am also a teacher, so the students I had from last year are always saying hello to me using my madien name, it confuses the heck out of my little ones.
