Both my parent's names, as well as my own (obviously) start with an F so all of our email addresses always started the same way - flopez. My married name starts with an L as well and now I always find when I start to email either my mom or dad I type fly...before I realize that's my name, nto theirs!

that's how I know I'm getting used to my new last name!

Very used to it, in fact it seems weird when i say my maiden name.

I've changed my name everywhere, but I find it so strange to actually use it. Whenever I introduce myself or say my name I have to think about what I'm saying because it just doesn't seem natural to be using my new name yet.

when i sign things i find myself messing up .... like with checks if i mess up i put a slash and sign the other name i really got to stop that!

Im used to it now, I think it took me a couple of months to get adjusted to the new name, but i love it!

I haven't done any paper work yet to change my name. I'm actually having second thoughts, but I guess I will end up hyphenating, though at work I will continue to go by my maiden name to avoid confusion.

I don't know why, but I am totally used to it. I think I say my new last name funny, but I always felt like I said it weird, which is odd because it's not a difficult name.

Same here! I was totally used to my married name from the day we were hitched,probably because in jest Anthony would call me 'Mrs P' and it kind of just felt right.

But I totally find that when I say it, it just always sounds as though I'm mispronouncing it... me bad

Definitely not - it's been very hard to get used to the new nine letter mispronounced by everyone last name!! I still use my maiden name professionally and am addressed by it everyday - so it is very hard for me to get used to my married name - only things I have changed are social security and license - everything else is still in maiden name too - i feel bad!

I was used to it the night of the wedding. I have not messed up yet! I am very proud of having my DH's last name. And I happen to really like it

Last September I swear my students swore I had a split personality- half the time I would call or refer to myself as my maiden name and the other half my married name. Also the students from the year before called me by my maiden name. Ugh the confusion

I'm definitely not used to it and don't know if I ever will. One minute I use it, the next I don't then the next I use both

Saying 'my husband' came very naturally but referring to myself as Mrs. is very strange!!

I'm getting used to it. When I have to sign for things or fill out forms I can sign without thinking about it.

Yes....in fact when I see / hear my maiden name it sounds weird.

eta someone above mentioned that being called Mrs feels weird...I agree..I usually write 'Ms'

Signing it is still weird. My maiden name started with a 'G' and m DH's begins with an 'S'. I find myself pausing and trying to find the best way to sign an 'S.' It sounds really silly but its awkward.

I had an easy hispanic five letter name.. that was ALWAYS mispelled and mispronouned. I never understood that. It's as simple as Lopez (which Im not) and as common as Smith.

So I changed my name to a very common Chinese name. Two letters.. But guess what? It's a common Asian name.. as in Japanese, Chinese and Korean. So there are three spellings and two with two letters. ANNOYING

Im more used to my name an others are. I figure it's fair since they still call him Mr. (my maiden name) at the pharmacy.

Since it's so short I only had to add a wiggle to my signature. Easy as pie.
