Anyone planning any big or small vacations this year? Figured with the new year we can talk about things to look forward to.
DH and i were discussing this yesterday. Now the problem i had is i wanted to take dh to vegas for his bday but he will be in arizona that week for work, and not sure when i can do it after and him able to take off of work since he cant take off as easily.
But he said he wanted to go to europe so was thinking of that for the summer. I want Italy but dh doesnt want to go there this year, he wants to go another time So now thinking where else can we go. I would like Greece but that would take alot of convincing lol. I even thought of maybe doing Spain again in a way to relive our HM lol.
Any plans anyone has?

in a few days we are going to Foxwoods.
Our big trip is two weeks in Key West, we are drivin down with Brutus in March
In October I am going to Italy with my brother's family but without DH - he doesnt want to come boo!

We just got back from La Isla Mujers - It was wonderful! We booked it last minute because we are both teachers and were off. We felt a little guilty spending the $, but we figured that this might be the last romantic trip just the two of us. We were supposed to go to Israel in February - his Aunt bought us plane tickets as a wedding gift because she lives there and couldn't travel to our wedding. Now we are VERY scared, and am not sure if we are going to postpone the trip.
Anyone looking for a relatively cheap romantic vacation, I highly recommend the Avalon Reef Club in La Isla Mujeres. You fly into cancun and then take a ferry ride to the Island. It is so different than cancun - so much quieter and more romantic and authentic. Sooo cheap too! A dinner for two and drinks was never more than 500 pesos, which is less than 50 bucks.

DH and I are going to AC in March for the Celebration of the Suds.. and then he is going to Puerto Rico for a softball tournament and I am going to Florida to see my best friend..
but we want to go away for our 2 year anniversary in April/May but we don't know where to go that we can both agree on!!

DH is going to jackson hole in a few weeks, and i am going to a conference at mohegan sun for a long weekend while he is gone, but we are really trying to save for a house so i dont think any other vacations will be happening anytime soon....

DH's family is talking about a group trip to Florida but I'd like to go away for our anniversary.
We are also talking about going to Niagara Falls for Memorial Day weekend.

I'd love to go someplace sunny, Ai or mostly inclusive and not too expensive. I still want to save for a house. I think I get my bonus check soon so maybe then I can start planning something.
I've been thinking of Atlantis in the Bahamas or a Bermuda cruise

DH and I are going on a 7 day cruise to the southern caribbean in August with my family. It should be fun! We are also trying to go away locally for our 1 year anniversary maybe just for the weekend, but it falls at the end of april break so it may be expensive!!

no big vacations planned for us. We may try to go to Chicago to visit some of my family for a long weekend. And of course there will be a few long weekend trips to Maine to visit my parents. And we may do a weekend at my friends house in Plymouth. But those are just quick little trips. We dont have an actual vacation of relaxation planned. I'd love to go to Punta Cana or Mexico, but we may have to wait another year or so. But I wanna do a trip before we have kids.

We are going to London & Amsterdam in March. We were going to go for our 1 yr anniversary, but its a lot cheaper to go in March! It's DH's first time in Europe and my first time in both of these cities. We're so excited! We're also throwing around the idea of going to Puerta Vallarta in August.
that sounds like such an awesome trip. I wanna go to places that wont be as easy to go to when we have kids so thats why i want to do europe, maybe australia and other places. I would LOVE to go to Egypt but gotta do some more convincing lol. DH is dying to go to Dubai but we'll have to save for that trip.

I think if we dont do europe, we might do Aruba or Cabo. If we go to a beachy place we need alot of other activities and some sort of night life. I know aruba has a casino so that would be great. Theres alot of gorgeous places but for example turks and caicos is GORGEOUS but not much to do at night, not looking for clubs but i dont like being just at the resort ya know. I like to go places for the whole experience, see their lifestyle and not hang out with everyone else who happens to be from NY bc its always filled with ny'ers at resorts lol. I guess thats why i would like to do europe again since you do experience their lifestyle, a whole different culture. Even when i went to the bahamas, instead of going to the club in the resort which was horrible anyways, we took a cab out of the resort area, and went to where locals hang out and went to a bar there.

We're going on a Caribbean cruise in March for a week. Then for our 2nd anniversary in September I want to go somewhere, just not sure where yet. Probably somewhere local as we're trying to save $...maybe a few nights in Montauk. Unfortunately our anniversary falls before Labor Day this year so we'll still have to pay peak rates, but we'll probably do a mid week stay to lessen the price.

Our big trip this year is to Antigua for our 1 yr anniversary and very excited about that! But we also are going to Vermont, hopefully Tahoe, Arizona to see family, Nashville and then a family Xmas Vacation at TBD/somewhere warm and beachy!
I hope to make it to Italy or Europe sometime soon, maybe 2010 but DH hate the fact that the dollar is so weak and wont book right now. I say we have to go before kids though.
