We are planning a 2 week trip to Italy with DH family around Easter to visit his family. We are planning on spending about 1 week with them and the next week on a tour. We are still trying to decide if we should go through a tour guide or just rent a car and go off on our own.

see thats what DH wants to do. He wants to go with his dad, and visit the place his dad grew up in and experience that with him. But his parents went to Italy last year and his dad said hes not gonna go soon. I reminded DH of this and said his dad might not go for a few years ya know. SO maybe i can convince him lol.

Personally I like doing things on our own, i dont like a tour guide thing, but thats me. I hate having to be on someone elses schedule. I like exploring things on our own and on our own time and in the order we like. Also with the tour guides, you might do a little too much running around. When we were in spain we picked one big thing a day or place a day to visit. We never had to rush to go see it, and took our time and stopped along the way wherever we wanted. And i'll say that we stopped along the way alot. We would see a store we wanted to check out, or a place we wanted to eat lunch at and was able to just do it. Thats me though so depends on what you would like best

Yea I think we are definitely more like you and would rather go off on our own and do our own thing. I do not like having to follow somebody elses schedule and be on a bus with a lot of people. I guess I have to look at a map of Italy because I have no idea how long it would take to get from one place to another and how many places we could visit within a week.

Congrats on the job! What type of job did you get?

We are going on a Carnival Cruise next week!!
January 11 - 18th. It's going to the Bahamas, St. Marteen, St. Thomas.

We are taking our anniversary trip in April. I hate having to make decisions. First I wanted to go to the Riviera Maya but I saw tons of iguana's so that's a no go. I was thinking Aruba- but there are iguana's there too Right now I am researching the Bahamas, Hawaii and Paris (or any place in Europe) If worse comes to worse and I cant make a decision we will go to Punta Cana. I love it there and we always have a great time.

would you be interested in spain? compared to the rest of europe it was inexpensive, its cheaper than NYC I thought. I had the best time and want to go back someday. Otherwise I like the paris idea. If you want to do an island how about Bermuda? It is GORGEOUS.

Yeah Spain is a great option. But you are right I didnt think about the dollar and how weak it is in comparison to the Euro. Bermuda is nice but we have both been there.

Well we picked spain bc we wanted alot to do and ended up being perfect for us. WHen i came on LIW to ask for HM suggestions and told them what i was looking for, 90% of the ladies said spain and they were so right.

Theres so many options as far as restaurants, we ate at ourdoor restaurants all the time and theres one next to another. Lots of lounges, bars and that sort of stuff. We went to Barcelona only, and went to like gothic square to go see the church there which is AMAZING, and right by there, theres this like small alley way but once you go down it there are TONS Of shops, so we did shopping. Then Las ramblas, kinda like an outside flea market with lots of street performers. You can also go by the water. ALso lots of other sites to visit. Even just walking down the streets youre in awe of its beauty. We would just take strolls, and theres sculptures everywhere on the streets, these amazing unique buildings with such great architecture. THe city is gorgeous and with lots of activities.

We are planning on going up to Mohegan Sun for a weekend sometime within the next month or so. Then we play on going to Ocean City this summer with my brother and sister and some friends.

Then for our 1 year we are going to Aruba for 7 nights I cant wait

we're going to mexico next week. it's our 1 year anniversary trip, even though it's a month early. we'll be moving into our house when our actual anniversary gets here, so that's why we're going early. it'll be our only trip this year.

i would love to, im trying to convince DH.

I also want to do a short trip to LA and san francisco but maybe late in the year, who knows, or maybe New Orleans

We are planning on going to Disney for a week to celebrate our anniversary.

We're also tossing around a smaller vacay sometime in August.. I kind of want to do Montauk or Mystic, because I have never been.

dh probably wont come back home

DH and I planned to do Italy in the summer..we only did a week HM bc I work in a school so I couldnt take off a lot of time....to be honest after the wedding Im like anti planning but I need to get on the ball bc Im dying to get back to Italy!!!!!!

DH and I are going skiing the last week of this month or the first week of Feb. My dad has a cabin inn Gilboa. It's about 25 minutes from Windham Mountian. We are going with a bunch of friends so it's going to be a party weekend. That should be fun for us.

We really want to celebrate our 1 year anniversary by taking a huge vacation. We wanted to go back to Disney (like we did on our HM). DH vacation time is the 1st week in Oct so we'd have to celebrate then. We aren't 100% sure yet though. Depends on our finacial situation. Right now, we can't even begin to save more than our normal, but DH is getting a raise this month so we'll see what the new year brings!

PRIORITIES first is what DH says! If it were up to me we'd have 8 kids, no money, and be living in a one bedroom apt. forever!!

im 95% sure we are going to mexico in march or april - we are pretty much decided on the resort - we just have to book....

we also are going to plan a long weekend/house hunting trip to florida i miss my parents and sis so it will be good to see them too!

we may do another trip at the end of year - december was a nice time of year to go away so we may try and do something for our anniversary - maybe go to aruba again b/c i loved it so much but that depends on how our year goes - we may need that money for a house!

we also have ideas of going on a canada/niagra falls trip and we also want to get to a bed and breakfast down by the shore in the summer - we always say we are going to and never get around to it but this year we really want to do as much as we can
