Your opinion on Miss Cali's Answer on Gay Marriage

For those of you who didnt see it last night. It went like this:

Perez Hilton: “Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”

Miss Dumb: 'We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised.'

There were reports of boos coming from the audience. A first in pageant history. There was also a lot of applause.

We live in a land where we can choose same-sex marriage or 'opposite' marriage. First of all, wasnt the question about whether other states should follow in the footsteps of Vermont? Meaning NO WE CANNOT choose you stupid ditz. Secondly, what is opposite marriage? Isnt that divorce?

Its fine with me that she stated her opinion but it could have at least been an intelligent answer.

I applaud her point and for saying it knowing she would get booed, but she really didn't think about how she was saying it. It makes her sound like a twit and for that she does deserve

I really dont get they have to legalize gay marriage. Why do they care who marries who... Its noones business but the couple!
They are human beings, if they want to marry then go ahead!! Noone should be stopping them.

I was about to choose gay marriage, but at the last minute I decided to go with a man and choose opposite marriage myself, so I think it should be legal.

I agree with Original poster- fine she stated her opinion, but should have answered the question in an intelligent manner. LOL. what a dumb way to answer it.

She sounded like an airhead, and since I don't agree with her it was even more funny to me, kind of like listening to Bush for 8 years. You don't agree, and then the moronic delivery just makes it all the more hysterical

thats what DH and i said - as soon as she finished answering DH was like wow she has some balls with that answer huh - and i was like wow - but she totally sounded like an idiot....but it has to be tough up there answering those questions so i cut her a little slack

I didn't see that, but hearing this makes me wonder if she just got kind of tongue tied. Obviously she's against gay marriage (NOTHING wrong with that either!! Everybody has a right to feel the way they feel) so I do applaud her for being honest even though she probably knew she'd get some negative reactions for it. But I think the question made her nervous. Nobody wants to be booed, so she was probably just trying to find a way of wording it better and it came out as odd as it sounded. Poor girl.

I think she probably got nervous and stepped all over her words... Perez has the video posted and right after she says 'opposite marriage' she has this face like 'Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck'

BUT I have to say Perez Hilton (love him with all my heart) would have bashed her regardless of sounding like a loonatardian! - she's opposed to gay marriage.

that's true. It's probably why those kinds of questions are so hard to answer. I hate those - it's like asking about religion or whatever. There will always be some who disagree and nobody likes feeling 'hated' for their opinion.
