We did cars direct.com sold pretty quick. Think it was like $30 until you sell.

I actually parked my first car in a busy parking lot during the day, right where there is a busy street, and I got so many calls, I sold it within the week.
I parked it there in the morning,a nd picked it up when it started to get dark

DONT trade it in at the dealers, they give you CRAP for your car.

Diane,thats what we were thinking of doing. We put an ad in the paper and didn't get one call. If I drive the car somewhere, someone usually asks about it.

As the wife of a car and truck dealer, I am offended by all the negative comments about dealers!!! Just kidding! Well, the first part is true, the second is not. I know dealers don't give you the true value for your car because they must set aside money to recondition it, have any mechanical deficiences corrected and detail it so that it presents well when they re-sell it.

So I can speak from experience when I say your best bet is to sell you car privately. I sold my 1995 Corolla last year in like a few days. I simply put a For Sale sign in the back window, spent a Saturday at the mall and running errands and got many calls.

Personally, I'd spend a few bucks on a For Sale sign and write in the info about the car on it rather than spend the money to run an ad in a paper.

I sold 2 somewhat older cars- about 8 years old with a $25 ad in the yankee trader or something like that. I wasn't asking much about $1000 each.

Let me know the info on the car...FM me. I can post your ad on some of the other web boards that I goto. Also if you need your car detailed, I do it on the weekend....I can make the car look brand new....and then you can ask a little more for the car.....

Also if you do decide to trade it in, there are benefits in doing that...The one big benefit is that you save on tax on the car you purchase. I did that on my current car. I traded in my civic and I bought a prizm...I only paid the the price of the car with no added tax.
