Just checking up on my fellow 04 Brides, wanting to see if any of us have done anything new and also just to say hi.

New things:
Brought my BMs each a BM hankie and a little BM book
Going to order 'Ring for a Kiss' bells
Found the dress that I want but I just need to go into the store and look at it

That is what has been going on with me.

Ok I need to bring us back to page 1.

So how is everyone wearing their hair? Are you buying a tiara that goes with the hairstyle you want or are you going to buy a tiara then decide what hairstyle you want?

For me, I would like to wear my hair half up half down. But I've been seeing a lot of really nice full up dos. So I'm still undecided.

I definatly want an up do. I have a few in mind, but once I have my headpiece I'll go to my hair dresser and together we'll come up with a style that will work for my face, headpiece, dress, etc...

My hairdresser is really nice and has been doing my hair for years so she knows how my hair is (baby fine and naturally curly) so she has an idea of how to work with my hair.

I really can't stand my hair! It's soooooo thin. So whatever hairstyle I get, the hairdresser is going to have to curl it or something because it will never stay if I leave it straight.

Hi Girls! I am back! I was in the hospital for a few days and WOW! I missed so much! 19pages!!!
I am wearing my hair half up. I have a tiara that my mom's friend lent me, but I am not sure if I like it. I don't want to hurt her feelings. I will decide when I start my alterations.
I haven't done anything new. I am going to start after the holidays.
I am so proud of the 19 pages! You girls are great!

Billysbride: Congrats on Leonard's!! I am having the reception there also!

Well, keep it up everyone! 2004 will be here before we know it!!! It's only 17 months until my wedding! Time flies!!

Testerossa - hope you are ok, sorry to hear you were in the hospital!

I booked my photographer & videographer yesterday, yeah! 2 things down. I have 2 band appts tomorrow night, but if there is a transit strike I'll have to re-schedule, which is a big ol' pain, but what are you gonna do.

I have REALLY curly hair. I actually had my hair done for my friend's wedding at this place called Blu and they did a nice job. They put it up for that. I think though for my wedding I'd want to wear it down, but have my curls blown out a little or use rollers, then use a curling iron to go over it. I think I'll just have to wait and see what my dress looks like too.

Thanks guys! I am ok.

I have curly hair also. I cant leave it all down b/c I dont want it to be in my face all night. I didn't want to wear it all up b/c it takes away from the curls. That is why I am wearing it half up.

I do not know how I want to wear my hair, it is curly and thick, people love my hair, and tell me to wear it down, but with the dress and my hair down, I am afraid I am going to be so hot.
Not much else going on with the planning we got so much done already. I am stuck in all day doing laundry, changing sheets and pillowcases, etc. I hate to do that. FH is glued to the tv watching football! (Yuck- I will never understand how he can watch a bunch of grown men run around after a football all day!)
Have a great Sunday everyone! Tomorrow is our 3 year anniversary of knowing each other... it went so fast, I hope 2004 gets here that fast!

GOSH I haven't read what I have missed but I will say that my hair will be all up with curls coming down my back. FH likes my hair that way.

My FI likes my hair curly and its naturally curly so that works for me. I am thinking having it up with soft curls flowing down. A few years ago I had a formal affair and I had my hair up with all these soft curls coming down and FI really liked it.

I have pictures of hair styles I like and I'll sit with my hair stylist and we'll work together on a style that works for me.

FI is doing the same thing, glued to the TV watching football

Someone on the board told me that JN put her name down to contact her once she starts taking appts for 2004 weddings. So I called her and left her the message so I hope to hear back tomorrow or I will try again. I presume she contracts 11 months out from what someone on the board said she starts bookings in April.

19 Pages! Wow!!! Ok, now that we are starting to book vendors for 2004, my question is, what is the timeline that we should contact them once we've booked? I figured I'd call my hall 1 year from our wedding to see what the next steps are. I guess each vendor will tell us, but I was just wondering what you guys are doing. Thanks!

DJ Talk: Anyone heard of Aristocrat? I am looking for a DJ that caters to ethnic guests. I need a mix of salsa, merengue, soca, calypso, r&b, freeystlye, reggae, old school...
I saw them at a wedding and were great but just wondering if anyone else had any feedback.

I just went to see CB this afternoon to make our third payment and I had a list of questions for my BM. So we went over that. I think I am going to wait 1 year before the big day to double check all of them although I am confident with those we have booked everything will be fine.

Wanda: I've never heard of that DJ company. Sorry.

As for pre cana, I don't have to do it through the Catholic Church because we're getting married in the Greek Orthodox Church. I just have to get a dispensation. The GO priest that is probably going to marry us did say that he wants us to do some type of pre-marital counseling. I think it's because we're interfaith. I don't think that the GO church does pre cana like the Catholic Church does.

Actually Marcela, there is a pre-cana for the Greek Orthodox religion (but they don't call it pre-cana). My FH and I are both Greek Orthodox and we have to go to pre-marriage counseling 6 months before the wedding. I don't think it is with other couples though. I know that we have to meet with the priest something like 3x before the wedding.
