Hello all 2004 brides! Doesn't it feel like it's years and years away?? I only have my hall booked, going to meet with the church again (had problems with them due to the holiday date). Coming to Long Island for Thanksgiving (YEAH!) Hopefully, meet with some photographers and dj's. Linda, you are the week after me!!! Where are you getting married?

Re: 04 Brides
To all the 04 ladies: Glad to see you are planning early. We got engaged Sept 23, 01. We booked our hall & church in October 01. It felt like a LONG way away (we had almost 18 months till our wedding ). Well now its 7 months for us and time is flying by soooo fast!! Time will go by fast for you ladies! The only thing you will HATE hearing from people is: 'Why so far away?' and 'Wow, you have plenty of time!'. I still hear that and i HATE it! lol Good Luck & Happy Planning ladies!

tell me about it! I cannot stand to hear another person tell me it is so far away and why so long. The best yet was a patient in my office said you better start working on having a baby right away becuase it takes a long time to get pregnant! Then she goes... like honeymoon nite! Can u Freaking believe that one! UGH! The nerve! We finally booked our DJ this morning! Another thing off the list, all vendors are booked but the florist! YIPEE!!

Re: 04 Brides
I am glad to see I am not the only one who has been booking things super early. I have a few dresses in mind but have not found the one. I was interested in a Lazaro one but when I went to the bridal place they had sold the sample. UGH!!! I have called everywhere to see if anyone carries this dress but all the places say no. I guess if it was meant to be it would be there..... ANyway, good luckall. I am sure we will all be close planning buddies within the next year...

Re: 04 Brides
Lisa: Thanks!! We have our reception hall (Floral Terrace) and our Church (St. Paul's Cathedral in Hempstead) as of right now. We are just beginning to look at vendors. We went to see Cassarino's today and really really liked them. But we want to go see VIP first before we make any decisions. And we want to go meet with Bellarino and Wild Rose for Video. Who are about you?

Re: 04 Brides
We have all our vendors already booked: Videographer - Bellarino Video Photographer - Marcy Studio (photographer from Bklyn where I live) Limos - Marcy Studio (got our limos through our photographer) DJ - Let Us Entertain You The most important thing, our church is St. Dominic's in Bklyn. You should look into Bellarino. Phil is great. As soon as we left him, we knew that we wanted to book him.

Re: 04 Brides
We are getting married in June of 2004 and so far we have booked our reception site and the church. Everything else seems to early to book...we will probably start looking for flowers and photography next year. I am so excited and I can't wait even though 2004 feels a long time away!

Re: 04 Brides
We are 3/26/04. So far we have church and hall done. We're in the process of getting a DJ and photographer/videographer. And after that we have to pick our wedding party! Then I'm going for my dress.

Re: 04 Brides
I just ordered a scanner, so I don't have all the pics. Here are a few our friends took with their digital cameras. They are not the best. I like the ones that were taken on the film cameras better. I will post those once I get the scanner.
Keep in mind that this was a Greek Orthodox Engagement ceremony (I'm Catholic, FH is GO)
This picture is us saying our engagement vows to each other:
Lisa: Thanks so much! I had no clue that we would say engagement vows to each other, but it was beautiful. And I'm so glad we did because we decided to get married in the Greek Orthodox Church and in the GO tradition, the couple does not get to say vows to each other. So at least we got to do it now

Re: 04 Brides
I am so happy for you. I am glad that everything went wonderful. I think saying vows to eahc other is the most important thing and since you can not say it to each other during the wedding ceremony at least you got to say it must feel great. Again, I am so happy for you.
