I am going to look at the Lynbrook Bridal Center. I don't have a car and I can't have my FI drive me so I need to find a shop that is closer to the train, so that my mom and I can go together.

Got my hall and my church. Starting my vendor search. I called on DJ that my mom has known for like 40 years, but some bride who happens to be in the same hall as me on the same night has him... EMO6: ......

i have been calling around..havent made any decisions yet.....

Starting my vendors now and hopefully by mid next year will be done with everything..wedding is in 2 years..Sept 18, 2004

i feel so behind! everyone has so much done! i haven't booked anything yet. we're going to meet with the priest this weekend. hopefully we'll decide on the reception location soon. i can't wait to officially set a date! we're thinking about march or april 2004 so i think i still have enough time

Hey everyone! I havent done much since the hall and church, except narrowed it down to 2 DJs and I found my dress!!! I am looking at another shop this weekend and then I will most likely put money down on the dress! I am going to start looking for photgraphers, videographers, and flowers after the holidays.

I'm thinking I should wait to get the dress since styles may change, and I'm hoping to lose another 10 pounds. If it was up to me I'd have everything done & booked by now, that's just the way I am, but when it comes to the money for downpayments, I'm realizing I have to space it out a bit. I'm starting with the band & photographer since I know those do need to get booked early. Hey Marcela1654 you're the only person I know who is getting married on the same day!!! Are you having an afternoon wedding?

I went once and was so overwhelmed. I walked out with a headache! As my mom was ready to kill me for being there so long. This is going to be another one of my stresses since I like so many styles. First being the eparty.

I booked my hall and ceremony site (Westbury Manor) but haven't done anything else yet. I'm getting so confused because I don't know what to do next!! One minute I'm looking at photographers and the next flowers and then the next minute DJs! and I still cant decide what color scheme to go with!

Welcome!

I started doing the same thing. I had so many ideas from this board and myself. Very overwhelming. So I started tackling one item per week. One week was researching on all photographers. Following week videos. I kind of ended up merging the two together since some photographers also do video. And so on. This has really helped me.
I already did the major research for florists and have yet to work on limos. I will be doing those in January.

I agree with CW0904...take one thing at a time and everything will fall into place.
If it gets to be too much, take a step back and take a deep breath and concentrate on one thing, then move on to the next. If we have one thing girls is some extra time to really plan right.

I've been checking out this website and have found some good vendors I am going to call. I called a few yesterday (2 photographers, videoagrapher and a limo company. One place offers all 3 things)and they seem nice on the phone. Some a little more expensive then others, but they were still very nice on the phone and really helpful. Just have to set up appointments to go in and see them and talk with them face to face. One videoagrapher is mailing me a demo tape so I'll have an idea of there work.

Still working on the DJ thing...LOL....May just go back to Bill and ask him to talk to people he knows and I may just go with them rather then continue looking. I know Bill and I know he would refer someone who is just like him. In fact my mom gave me a name of someone else who works with Bill to use. Just going to ask for that guy.

Everything else is going well with the planning. Having so much fun!!!!

Well so far I booked the hall, we're meeting with the priest on Sat. I have a family friend who will be the DJ. I need to find Photo/video soon, that's what I'm looking into now. I'm also going this weekend to try on a dress before it's discontinued so I could see how it looks on me, so that I can have my dress made. But i think I'm well on my way to a wedding...it's feels good. Yay!!

I have a little too much hands on my time so every night i am constantly saying to FH this is nice right, and what about this, and here is what i have done today and this is what we're doing for the next few weekends. I am having so much fun planning. I am probably going in December to try on the dress i want. I wanted to wait till the spring, but the store is not too far from where I live so my mom and i are going to go in December.

It looks like most of us are on the same page. When I first started on here there was only Marcela and I, now look how many 2004 brides there are. Anyone who feels overwhelmed, just remember we are all in the same boat and are here for each other.

One of my girlfriends got married last month and I got all of her vendors business cards. I just dont feel like going to a hundred different places like I did for the hall - they all start to blend together after a while. I loved her flowers (Flowers by Burton), I loved her DJ (Big Hits Entertainment) - I danced all night - and I liked her photographer but I'm waiting to see her proofs (VIP). My FH is actually pickier than me when it comes to photography though so I don't know how easy these decisions are going to be!

Yay!! I'm soo happy to see more 2004 brides. Everyone seems to be on the right track. I'm glad things are going so well for everyone.
Wanda, sorry about your e-party problems I hope you find something.

Jess2: We're having an evening wedding from 6pm-12. I know it's late, but there will be a lot of young people and Greek people and they tend to never leave early. Big party animals. LOL! What are you doing?
