Melissa I forgot to thank you for the snorkeling price info.
We are going to stop by a Ski & Surf shop right on Hempstead Tpke. I know there is a scuba diving store near Roosevelt Field too. Is this stuff ever on sale in these stores?

Hi all,

Nothing new here. But I wanted to ask, we haven't had an engagement party. We wanted to do one 1 year before our wedding. So it would be in July 2003, and we were thinking about doing a BBQ at my house and inviting close family and friends.
Do you think it's too late to have an e-party?

Hi. I'm new here! Just got engaged on New Years. I'll be a 2004 bride. Looking at April or May. I haven't even started booking anything. I do have a dress though (previous engagement, but never worn or altered).
The first places i want to look at are Coral house, Westbury Manor, and Fox Hollow (and maybe Milleridge inn).
I can use all the feedback you can give. I'm not looking to spend a lot on anything. Even thinking of having centerpieces of cut flowers in a bowl, or floating candles. Thinking of making favors too.

(i was a regular on this board during my last engagement... )

CW its usually not on sale. Those things are flat out. But since its off season you may be able to get a good deal. Not a lot of people doing dives in January.

Billysbride: I dont think its too late to do an e-party. We got engaged Sept and our e-party is going to be in april. Friends of ours got engaged april 2002 and there e-party was oct 2002. So I dont think its too late.
