New things: Brought my BMs each a BM hankie and a little BM book Going to order 'Ring for a Kiss' bells Found the dress that I want but I just need to go into the store and look at it
That is what has been going on with me.

Re: 04 Brides
Photography was hard for us also, until we met with Patken. We really loved their photos and knew they were the one of us. You will find someone you like, don't worry. Have you looked at Patken, Imagine, Cassarino, etc?
Good Luck!

Re: 04 Brides
We are looking into photography and videography too. However, this board helps you alot esp. with girls posting pics of their wedding so that you can see each photographers work. We are meeting with Mark Kaufman next week. So far FH and I really like his work. I saw Sonicstef's pics and they are amazing!! We are also going to check out Patken and Imagine and maybe Cassarino. For videography I have heard great things about Wild Rose Video. We are going to meet with them also next week. It's so much planning!!! I didn't realize how $$$ photography and videography is.

Re: 04 Brides
I think we've decided on a May 15th wedding. So that makes 3 (?) of us on that day so far? So tell me what halls are out for us.

I am thinking about going dress shopping on 1/20-Martin Luther King Day. I am off and I think my mom is too. Maybe I can shed another pound...
Licia I love your dress.

I can not wait to start dress shopping too. I am going to start looking in March. I know what I want, I just need to try it on. We saw three photographers before we decided on Marcy's Studio (in Bklyn where I live). I knew that I wanted them but I needed to convince my FH but once he saw their work and met with the owner (he is actually going to shot our wedding) he loved them and wanted to book them on the spot. For those looking for video, I booked Bellarino. They do wonderful and have great packages and prices. If you want more information on them, send me a forum.

Re: 04 Brides
tracy what are you looking for??
Nylisa and I are both getting married on the same day and our reception is in the same hall. Its a nice cozy place. From what I have heard about the food its really good. Its a family owned place that has been in business for 30 years. We're getting an amazing cocktail hour with so much food people will think its the diner.
They supply the wedding cake and it comes with a fountain. how cute is that. we are also getting a mini vianesse table. all of that is included in the price. we also get an ice sculpture. again included in the price. we also get our own kitchen and bathroom and Nylisa will have her own kitchen and bathroom. there arent lavish gardens, but there is this little gazebo type thing to take pictures and inside there is a really cute room with a baby grand piano another good photo opt. the food, the service and everything they do for you to make your day very special makes up for lavish gardens, views and anything else. the guy we are dealing with is so nice and everyone there is just such a pleasant to talk too.

TESTAROSSA19 Thanks for the advice. I am from Baldwin so I figured I would go to Lillettes. After always passing the store growing up, I finally have a reason to go inside I am just going to go into it with an open mind. You never know what you will fall in love with. Hahaha, that sounds like my love advice to my friends

Re: 04 Brides
ok, i see just one other person (robeymuse) is getting married same day as us. Manor East is on our list of places to look at. I was at a wedding there a few years ago. From what I remember it was really nice.

Re: 04 Brides
I totally agree with Chippa. Even though we are having our reception at the same time and at the same place, we will never see each other (but we are going to make it our business to see each other) because like she said we have our own bathroom, kitchen, entrance, etc. Also, our cocktail hours will start at different times. You and your guests never see another party. If you are looking for good food and service than you should look into the Manor East. If you have any questions or want more information either forum me or ChippaTriD.

Re: 04 Brides
Robeymuse- I went into the bridal shops with a certain style dress in mind. I loved the style, i tried on the dresses and hated it!! Just wasn't flattering. WHen i tried on my dress (similiar to what i was looking for but a bit different) I just knew it was the one. Even my mom said it was made for me! I'll have to post pics later.... its different because it has some leaves (fabric of course) attached to some of the detail right below the buttons. Hard to explain, but it was actually nice

Re: 04 Brides
LOL I feel like im so behind since you all have your halls already. We do plan on looking next week. Once we have the hall I'll feel more relaxed. We are flexible with the date, so if we can't have it onthe 15th we'll just have to pick another day.
K i guess Stewart Manor is out for us. I've got PLENTY on my list, so thats ok.

Re: 04 Brides
If anyone is interested in my photographer Fm mail me. We also looked all over the place. One of the big name photographers kept having to call his boss to find out about packages, and if they can do XYZ, so I was not impressed. The photo guy we took is the house photo for the Miller Place Inn. My Fh and I were also very picky and we liked him a lot, his stuff is so clear we are afriad we are going to have to have FH wear cover up. I had a weird dream last nite, that I got married and I did not know it because I said , It went by so fast, I did not know it in the dream! How weird is that? I also had another one a few week ago where my dress turned deep blue! LOL I am not going to the gtg becuase I will be watching myself on the taping of a show I went to in November, Emeril Live! I was in the audience and I was told by the camera guy to look at Emeril, so I hope I did not make the cutting room floor. Not much else going on here, my friend found a website for hair I am going to check it out, it is: www.hair-styles.org maybe I can get some ideas about how I want to wear my hair. Happy Thursday to all!

Re: 04 Brides
Marcela did you use a professional photographer at your e-party? Someone mentioned it to me and I am not sure if I should now. I probably won't though.

Re: 04 Brides
Wanda: No way! It was an expense that we really did not feel was necessary. My friend (and a BM) was an art major and had taken a bunch of photography classes, so I bought a whole bunch of black and white and color film and had her take a bunch of pictures. I was really happy with them. Plus all of the guests took tons of pics, so I have a lot of pics from the e-party. And my family and Peter's friend had video cameras. I was going to buy table cameras, but didn't have enough time.

Re: 04 Brides
Hi Girls!! I finally booked my photographer last night. I booked with Ariana Studios with Ozzie as photographer. I'm so happy I have all my major vendors for now. So I really don't have to do much until the summer YAY!! I will still be researching for ideas, but I won't be stressed to book anyone. It feels great to get this done.
