Just checking up on my fellow 04 Brides, wanting to see if any of us have done anything new and also just to say hi.

New things:
Brought my BMs each a BM hankie and a little BM book
Going to order 'Ring for a Kiss' bells
Found the dress that I want but I just need to go into the store and look at it

That is what has been going on with me.

Thats not right...we have been asking since Decemeber and were told there were going to be changes and I didnt expect a slim down board.

I really hope LIW is listening to all of us, because we really deserve our own board

I started doing things about a month after i got engaged. I didn't want things to be booked by the time my fiance' wanted to start things!

Went to see the rabbi last night. It was interesting, similar to Pre cana.We are meeting again with him in 3 weeks, he gave us a book to read, etc. It stinks that I have to cover up my shoulders under the Chuppah(Marriage Canopy) . Does anyone know where to get a shawl for a wedding that is not too pricey? I also cannot wear any necklace on my neck during the actual ceromony. It was interesting to find out little things I did not know about my FH.
We came home, I got ready for bed and my mouth felt funny, I broke part of my tooth, which to me is tragic, becuase I am dental phobic! It is a molar, 3/4 of it is there, I hope he can just build around it, YIKES! Think of me tomorrow morning at 10 AM. I already asked the dentist how long I will be in the seat... he said 1 hour. 1 hour too long! I am already freaking out, I have been in a cold sweat all day and hardly had sleep last night. It is going to be he longest hour of my life. Prayers please! Thanks.

Princess check where you are getting your dress if they have shawls. THe dress I want comes with a shawl. So check with your dress place, they may have shawls.

Is it an interfaith marriage? Are you getting married in a Temple or is it the chuppah in general you can't do this under?
My FH is Jewish and I'm protestant, but sorry, I'm not covering my shoulders or not wearing a necklace. My dress has cap sleeves anyway that are almost but not quite off the shoulders. I think that should be ok.

Nope we are both Jewish. The rabbi is conservative. My sister was not allowed to wear jewelry also, I forgot why, I think the rabbi said it had to do with going into the marriage pure or something crazy like that. I will try to find out we meet with him again in February.

I've never heard of that, my Rabbi is conservative too, but I want to wear a necklace, that is crazy. I'm wondering if we have the same Rabbi.

I can not believe that you found this thread. For those that remember, this thread is what got us this board.

I am feeling pretty good. I actually feel like I am ahead of schedule on everything. On Saturday, I am going to order my dress and possibly decide on my BM dress and have my sister (MOH) order hers and then the rest of the girls can go and order theirs. I have decided on another gift for our parents besides the hankie and a frame. I also have purchased an additional gift for my MOH, it is a MOH Guardian Angel pin.

How is everyone else doing?

Going tonight to look at shawls with my sister, I was depressed yesterday, I guess because it was so dreary out, It really struck me hard last night, about the wedding. I am so upset my mom is not here anymore, nor my dad to be excited with me. I am doing a little better today. My sister and I are going to diner and to do wedding stuff tonight. ( I got some stuff the other day and instead of running to tell my mom and dad or having them there with me, I called my sister at work and she was busy with a patient-she is an eye doctor, and my FMIL is clueless abut a lot of these wedding things, that is why I think I was down in the dumps.

On the tables we are having the flower arrangements- casablanca lillies, roses, wax flowers etc, then we are having hershey miniatures scattered on the table with custom wrappers, candles, and instead of you just pick up regular place cards, they are going to get a frame holder that is a heart with a pick on top with there names and table #s on it and then u can put in a picture afterwards. You can see it at www.jbemporium.image.org style # 5302, but they(the comapny they order from) ran out of the plain ones , so we are getting it with the rhinestones on it, I think it is in the next page on that site. Then we are going to put black and white curling ribbon on it. Still kicking around the rose idea, giving every lady a pink rose when they leave, but I do not want this to get out of hand or expensive. Do u think it is overkill to do this also?
