Re: 05 Fox Hollow Brides
I actually wasn't able to do a tasting, they said I would have to order a dinner if I wanted to sample...BUT..just through the things I've heard about the food and seeing the menu....I figure I can't go wrong?! Its so pretty there, and I hear so many great things. I don't think I can wait over a year!!!

When I booked they said they don't do tastings but they could get us immediate seating in the restaurant. I told them they should look into adding a 'by appointment only' tasting session for groups at the bridal showcase. One of BM went to this with her sister in PA & it was great. They had 3 45 min sessions in 1 night & you were only allowerd to attend 2 per year with no more than 4 in your party. Nothing ever seemed to come of that sugestion though...

We set up a reservation for dinner right after we booked and the BM came in and told us it was on Fox Hollow - very nice of him and completely unexpected. The food was amazing - truly!!!

Re: 05 Fox Hollow Brides
I wish I had stayed and had their dinner....but we are now living in DC and going to Long Island when we can so it was all kind of one huge blur!! I'll take all your words of advice, this board is great to have..very hard for me to research and everything being so far :( If anyone can recommend a great band that is somewhat affordable (less than $4500 if possible?) that would be wonderful too. OH and photographer? LOL. You can tell I'm getting crazy already!!

Re: 05 Fox Hollow Brides
What rooms are you guys doing??
Mine is giong to be Ceremony outside (if no rain).. if not, it will be upstairs. Then CH is in the Winter Garden Room, then the Reception is in the Briar Fox. Someone on this site said the Briar Fox felt like a basement, with low ceelings... Did you guys get that feeling???
I LOVE the Winter Garden room though... so was thinking of switching it???

I don't think any rooms felt like a basement in the least. They are all beautiful, I would stick with what you have unless of course you feel you like another room better...in that case, it can't hurt to ask! I am in the garden terrace...I think it was the only one that accomodated around 200+.

Re: 05 Fox Hollow Brides
I having my reception in the Briar Fox Room and I absolutely love it! I did not think it felt like a basement at all. I think its cozy and wonderful. I love how there are no bad tables and the dancefloor is in the middle and large! I love the den type feel to it. Its comfortable and not ostentatious!
I saw that comment too and got upset and told my FH, and he made me feel better because we both truly loved the room when we saw it and booked on the spot. He made me remember that and I felt so much better. Plus, my parents loved it too.
Don't regret your choice bc of somebody's stupid comment!

We're in the Briar Fox and I have to say I love that room! Right after we booked I started getting nervous so when we were there for dinner we went to check it out - they were set up for a wedding and as I walked in I was so taken with the room - I love it!!!! So don't worry - it's a great room.

When it comes to the Inn I would book ASAP. I know people who have been turned away over year in advance. They do other business thn just wedding. Since they are suites with kitchnettes a lot of business men rent them for a few months while relocating etc.
We just priced the Vienesse & it's $10 an hour (maybe $12 but I'm pretty sure they said $10 - its at home) Just be careful - its not just the food it's an extra hour added to your affair. That's what made it too expensive for us. We couldnt afford to keep the DJ & photographer for the extra hour. Also, the 3 weddings my parents went to at Scotto places that had the VH had to give out boxes so people could take stuff to go because no one had the room in their tummy's to eat any more. Mmmm...
