Lorraine merged with Tim's.
I'm using Laurie of LABlossom for flowers. She is great.

I didn't go to Lorraine's because I pretty much knew I wanted to go with Laurie from LA Blossom. As for the flowers that the Riviera provides for the hall. I'll either just take the monetary credit (which I think is only $8 per table), or if they allow I will use those flowers as centerpieces for the cocktail hour tables.
Here is a pic if what my centerpieces will look like except with pastel color roses, we will also have rose petals and votives around the centerpiece:

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread
Hey Girls! I was at the Riviera yesterday. My mom was in town and I went there at 10:30 and it was being all set up for a wedding. It looked so lovely all done up. they were getting married in the back too which looked so nice.
I saw the chairs they looked like new chair covers but I am not 100%. Can you dazzle them up a bit?? I was thinking of putting like a ribbon or something nice with the chairs, unless I was looking at the old ones. Also I am not crazy about the tapestries and old pictures. Would they be able to take those out??? Just curious. TIA

HA! I asked the same thing about the old paintings...if they could be taken down!! Victoria said she didn't think so, but maybe we could do something to cover them up...just not sure! Totally not my style....
ALso i think they have bows on the back of the covers. So you saw the covers, but not what the new chairs look like underneath?

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread
There is a new Rivera review (Dita531) on the review board. For those that plan on using the house florist for their personal flowers, this is the second recent bride that was not totally happy with the house florist.

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread
Hey!! I am so excited to see a riviera thread, can you PLEASE add me??!! YEY! So I have a couple questions for you guys and a couple responses...The new chairs are really nice and very common in other halls. They said that they did not have slip covers for the new ones yet (you don't need them, but if you like the 'look' of all white) but they would probably be getting them soon. I haven't decided what I am going to do yet, but I am thinking we'll go with the chairs, they ARE nice...and to save some money.
So I am planning my wedding from Baltimore and I wish I was closer so that I could go see it again! I've only been there twice in one weekend...
Any of you having out of town guests?? If so, which hotel(s) are you telling them to stay at??? Anyone find a place that provides a shuttle for guests? This is SO important to me b/c my family loves to party....?

I really love the look of the room with chair covers so I hope they get them by next year. As for the hotel I think someone mentioned to me that the Huntington Hilton was the hotel that most Riviera brides used.

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread
I looked at the Best Western with my mom and aside from the brand new exterior the rooms were awful and smelly. The Huntington Hilton is nice too. We also looked at Holiday Inn in Westbury. It is great for guests who are coming into town and located near the malls and stores. They are right in the heart of all the shops and stores. I think I will go with them. They have a nice pool too. I would check it out. The place is nicer than expected. Thanks for the chair info. I am interested to see what the chairs look like now. Anyone else have problems with the tapestries??

Yeah I'm thinking about the Huntington Hilton or the Holiday Inn too, I like the Marriott in Uniondale but its so so expensive. But either way, it is so expensive. Let me know which one you all go with!!

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread
The huntington hilton is kinda pricey too, no? Maybe I am just not used to LI hotel prices since I never have to stay in one! I would love to have a choice for our guests, so if we used the Hilton, I would like to give an option kinda like, oh, you can also stay at the econo lodge...type of place...Maybe not that extreme, but I would like them to be near each other...anything close to the h.hilton?? I am so not familiar with the area and live in Baltimore, so I may have to drive around and check it out...unless anyone else has ideas?
You guys are making me nervous about these tapestries...I didn't notice any tapestries!! Where are they??????

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread
There's basically just one painting in the main room that i remember not liking. Or is there too? Its just old fashioned.
I wish there were more hotels on the south shore that aren't cheapy ones!

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread
yeah, the motels and hotels located there are awful. I hate when peopel have to travel so far but I guess Westbury is not that far since it was off the meadowbrook. Ugh! The tapestries...It is just not my taste so hopefully they will let me replace them. Do you girls know how many to the tables?? I thought it was 10 people. I doing my own centerpeieces after hearing things on the house florist. FH and I went to a bridal show in the fall at the Riviera and we sampled the cake..YUM it was so good...I guess we will use the house bakery. Any other suggestions girls for things at the Riviera???

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread
The seating chart they gave me (back in March of 04) had 4 tables of 10 and the others had 12.
