Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread

Thanks Amy! Guess I did not get my seating chart yet.
When do you go in to finalize things. I have been there 3 times in 3 months to bring family there but have not done anything else like taste testing...Do I call for that? Did anyone else do that?
TIA for all your help. I am trying to get so many things done..I have put off things and now I am behind.
Who are you all using for DJ?????

OK - I have some additional info.

Lorraine did not merge with Tim's, she merged with Bayview Florist in Massapequa.
And, you actually get 8 roses.
I just blocked rooms at the Huntington Hilton - and they give you a special rate, I believe it's $129. But, my wedding is in Feb - so I dont' know if that rate is higher for other months.
I also reserved the use of the Hilton's shuttle for that night. I believe it's around $300 + tax/grat. FH and I are going to stay there because they have a suite.
I also blocked rooms at the Bar Harbour, just to give people a less expensive option.

I'm happy about the new chairs, I wish I knew what they looked like.

ANyone go to Tim's? Maybe I'll look at him and Lorraine too. I definitley dont just want roses though...i want some cala lillies in there. That Hilton Rate is good...i think i'll do that and the bar harbour too. did you see the rooms, were they really smellY?

The Bar Harbour quoted me $109 for a Sat night and $99 if you have AAA.

I didnt' go there in person, but knowing my family/friends, they will want to stay where the shuttle takes them - so they can PARTY!!

The Bar Harbor is like the motels in the back the Best Western is the nice rooms inside the new building that was built...I called yesterday and that is how they explained it to me. They gave me $89 weekday and $98 weekend prices for a regular room.
I am going to see High Voltage next week. I hear they are good. Any other suggestions???

I haven't started my DJ search just yet, but do any of these places have videos or anything that they send? Planning from baltimore, I would rather weed thru some of the ones I know I wouldn't want...and then meet with a select few I narrow it down to!

Hi All,

I think we will be booking the Riviera for Nov 11th! We just went there yesterday and loved it. I think it is perfect for a fall wedding. We are going back for a tasting on Sat. and if we like the food we are going to put a deposit down!

The new chairs seemed nice to me, they did not have chair covers at the time, but Vicky had mentioned that they do have chair covers available. I will pay more attention to them when I go back Sat.

Hey Girls!
I went to see high Voltage yesterday. Loved em' I think we will book, just checking one more place tomorrow.
Only prob is we can't get Vinny so I am a little nervous since I have only heard raves about Vinny. what to do?
I want to go for the taste testing asap. I don't want to wait until winter when there are no weddings. Let us know how yummy everything is...and WELCOME to the 'Riviera Family'

For those of you who don't have flowers yet, I went to see Anna @ National Floral - and she's amazing. We are getting a great deal, and she's very flexible.

FM me if you want more info.

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread

yeah! Welcome and congratulations!!

Riviera girls,
I am having such a hard time with these last few vendors.
I am thinking of booking high voltage but not Vinny since he is taken or Big Hits. I saw big hits and love them but they are a big hit with the wallet. Any thoughts
Also I was thinking of Flowers by Burton. Any thoughts there??
Limo is so far from anything since Fh says he will take care of that...yeah right. When should I take over that task??
Any feedback or info greatly appreciated.
That shuttle at the Huntington Hilton seems great. How does that work?? They take the guests to the church or just reception?? Is it all night for $300??? TIA

Re: 06 Riviera Brides Thread

I'm also trying to figure out hotel/shuttle stuff! The Huntington Hilton gave me a $400 quote for all-day shuttle service (plus gratuity). That sounds pretty good but I think I want to go with the Hilton Garden Inn...

For DJs, we booked Then Til Now, one of the Riviera's recommended vendors. We met Steve and liked him a lot, and he does weddings there all the time. FM me if you want more details.
