I suffer from anxiety and panic disorder, and although I'm on medication for it, I wanted to honestly know....How nervous were you when you were walking down the aisle, and saying your vows. When I think about it now, I cry, and my heart beats fast . Any tips on how to keep my cool, aside from popping a few Valum? Thanks girls.

Re: 07'er with an important question.......
Honestly, I really never felt very nervous. I felt a few butterflies right before walking down the aisle, but then the whole thing was so surreal, like it wasn't even happening. After the ceremony I said to DH 'I am so glad we got the video because I have NO IDEA what just happened!' All I remember is being really excited! Don't worry - you will be fine, once you see your man standing at the end of the aisle waiting for you, all your anxiety will melt away! If you are not seeing each other before, I also really recommend it, because it will take away some of your nervousness. DH told me that he was soo nervous but then as soon as he saw me, he was able to relax and enjoy himself - so if you have panic disorder, seeing each other before really might help you - because he will be able to calm you down, and it won't be this whole 'mystery' when you walk down the aisle.

I have to ditto this one. I wasn't scared at all. Once they open the doors of the church, and I saw my DH standing there waiting for me, I was the happiest woman in the world. I saw know one else by him. I smile all the way down the aisle. (ask Gilselle and Eliana)

I thought I was going to be nervous but I wasn't. Walking down the aisle is a surreal experience...it's like you are floating on air.
Saying my vows I was more emotional than anything but not nervous

My heart was pumping quickly, but it was more an emotional thing with my father than anything else. I was all smiles down the aisle while my father cried. I couldnt wait to se DH.

I have anxiety and suffer from panic attacks and I was really nervous about it as well! However, the day of my heart just pumped really fast right before going down I held on to my dad so tight and once I locked eyes with my DH I was FINE, it was as if it was just the two of us and nobody else really mattered,! It was the most amazing feeling ever, something I have never felt before and a feeling I wish I could recreate! Trust me you will be fine and the it will be the most amazing experience ever!

I suffer from anxiety attacks too and I really thought the day of my wedding I was going to be a mess, but I wasn't. I was nothing I had ever felt before and it was an awesome feeling. But if you are worried about it you might want to talk it over with your doctor first. GL and just try to take some deep breaths. It's going to be great and you are going to have a great day.

Me, too. I thought I would be nervous, and DH and I had practiced saying our vows for days before the wedding so we wouldn't worry about screwing it up. It didn't go perfectly, but we were floating because we were just so happy.

I have a tip for u! Melanie, I will be there every step of the way. When you feel like crying or u just may not make it, squeeze my hand. You will get through this without a probelm honey.

I have panic disorder and take Xanax when it's really bad. I thought I'd need it on the wedding day because I am such an emotional person... surprisingly though I was ridiculously calm and did not shed one tear. I was just so happy to finally be getting married. And it helped that we saw each other before hand and that I started getting ready very early so that there would be no stress. Good luck!

I have anxiety and I was very nervous as soon as my photographer said that we were ready to get into the limo. My heart was racing, I thought I was going to pass out. Once I walked down the isle and was with DH I was fine. You are on such a high that you block everyone else out, it's feels like its just you and him standing up there alone.

Re: 07'er with an important question.......
It's totally surreal and I felt like I was floating the whole morning. I was just so overjoyed and excited, and the nerves did not really affect me...even though I anticipated they would. Even when I saw DH bawling like a baby at the end of the aisle I held it together...I was just the happiest person in the world. Surround yourself with those you are closest to and trust before the ceremony...I got ready with my mom and my 8 BMs and I swear that was part of the reason I felt so calm.
You will be okay!!!

I totally agree - I wasn't nervous. I did feel the butterflies however, but that went away the second the doors opened and I saw DH. It was just an amazing feeling from then on out.
