1 year old cake...

So yesterday I was telling FH about freezing our wedding cake and how we are supposed to eat it on our one year anniversary. He goes ' w t f ? u crazy? you expect me to eat 1 year old cake??'

So then I acted all hurt and stuff, and so he agreed to eat the cake....

Anyone elses FH think this is gross?

My FH said the same thing!!!! I told him it's frozen, don't worry, and he brought up a good point. How will it stay frozen from NY back to VA? Might have to dry ice pack it until it gets back here with my parents.

I think it is kind of gross. The vendor who I am using for my wedding cake said to us please do not freeze the cake and eat on your anniversary. He told us to come back when we make a year he will make a small cake for us. He even said that was gross he could not understand why couple do that. JMO

I agree that it's kinda gross, but i have to take at least one bite. It's worth a little stomach ache one night to know that we'll have lots of love in the rest of our marriage

I think my FH would be happy eating any kind of cake! Me on the other hand? Not so much!

lol.... FSIL and her hubby ate theirs... other than being a little dry, they said it was totally fine.

ETA: when I was the bridal attendant at Raphael i'd always save the top layer and wrap it up for them and write 'Do not open until (date of following year)'.. I'd wrap it up reallllyyyyy tight with lots of seran wrap. make sure it's wrapped up really well!

I think its a lil gross... but i'll try to eat it anyway. I can't even eat frozen french fries that have been in the freezer for too long.

No I dont think its gross. It was a tradition in my family that you freeze the cake and eat the rest of it when the first born arrives. Obviously, this was way before birth control methods came into use. My mom was pregnant with my sister right after her wedding and they ate it when she was born.

I dont think FH would think its gross. Its frozen, and defrosted and you spend a lot of money for it....whats the biggie?
