'10er dropping in with a DJ question....

first off- Congratulations to all you 09 brides!!!
ok FH and I need to start meeting with DJs...
we're on a SUPER tight budget, but want/need the following:

TWO man (emcee/deejay)
5 hours music (4hr recept+1VH)- so no CH (we have music)
BASIC light show...
not into give aways, unless they are included.. but really don't want them

I've asked on the 2010 board, but the only problem is... while they all have prices and opinions, they haven't dealt with the DJ on their wedding day. So I figured I'd ask you NW's..

What DJ co did you use? how were they? WHAT DID THEY COST? and what did that include?

TIA

We used Starlight Express and absolutely loved them. We paid a pretty penny but because we got a steel drum band and some light thing and TV's. I dont know what their standard cost is, im sorry.

If I could get married again, I would definitely use them!

we used High Energy Entertainment. We had a dj, emcee, and zap shots guy (they sent us those pics on a disc by the time we were back from the honeymoon), 2 plasmas, 50 pic montage, & lighting and it was under $2000. Here is their info! Ralph is the best and he'll work with you on the price!!

Candlelight Entertainment (getonyourfeet.com)

I think it's $800-900 for a two man package for 5 hours and they will throw in lights. They are great. Tell Carlo the owner that Marjorie recommended you.

We used tommy's tune and frank was the MC and we had a percussionist it was awesome!!!!! They were pretty reasonable I thought but I would totally reccommend them!!! No one sat our entire day!!! They also did cocktail hour music. HTH if you have any other questions u can fm me! Good Luck!!

I have to plug my dj...Gary Hoffman...he doesn't come with the light show because he is not your typical wedding dj but he is AMAZING!!!

We didn't do any lighting but our entire day ceremony - end was only $1395 with Variety Music and that was with an MC & DJ.

If you take off the ceremony and the CH/VH, it would be even less, so you could ask about adding lighting.

We had Ray as our MC who is the owner and he was really great. We loved that they listened to us about everything.
