12th Night users...

12th Night users...

I heard Dom is trying to persuade more people into going completely digital for their weddings. Our package is half and half... we haven't yet had our final meeting with him but we are unsure what to do if he asks us if we want to go all digital...

If we do- does the price change? I'd love to know what you think about keeping it how it is or going all digital... thanks!

He is tying to persuade and it's a hard sell...even though my package was half and half it was decided the week of the wedding to go all digital. I have yet to see the proofs...but the price doesn't change.

Same here but we did get our proofs and they are excellent.

SomethingBlu - your proofs have to be ready - you only got married a month after me!

This is all news to me...although I'm getting married next year so I haven't spoken to him since we booked him...

I like the fact that we do get to have some physical proofs in our hand after our wedding...not too sure how I feel about getting everything on CD...

We also went nearly all digital - with about 175 black and white film shots. All in all we have over 1200 proofs, and I am happy that we switched to the digital.

Another questions (not to hijack the thread), but do any of you know how many images approximately could go in the coffee table wedding album? I posted on newlyweds to no avail. TIA!

Somethingblu - you have yet to see the proofs!!!!

I was told I will see mine by the end of September which will be 6 weeks. Why is it that some girls who got married the same time as me already have their proofs

Dominic is on vacation (that's what I get for waiting!) but I'm just going to have my DH go get 'em...it's official...I finally get my profs! LOL

GN - will let you know about the all digital quality, but I'm sure it will be spectacular. I have yet to see a bad picture taken by Dominc or Geraldine (love her!).

The pics take about 6 weeks (sometimes 8)...that's how long mine took, that's how long most people have taken. Going by that you should have yours mid September, which I think is what they said anyway...

I know it's hard to wait, but it'll be worth it. Besides, he's back next week...but vacations are OK, right?

I'm not really worried about quality... I am just not sure I want to go all digital.. cuz then it will cost even more to print them out if I DON'T go digital then I will have some printed already but then I have to spend time scanning them...

I am doing my own albums so I wanted everything digital. I am almost done with the album layout too!

Check out page three of my review thread in Brides Review to see some sample album pages I have been working on.

I saw them- they are awesome!!! That is part of the reason we want to go all digital, my FH is a graphic designer and will be doing our album himself...

BUT I just feel like why should we pay the same amount if we are going to have to print ALL the pictures... its definetly cheaper for them if we go all digital!

I sort of agree, but I think they're reasonable, even all digital since their work is amazing. And I LOVE Geraldine's eye...I would have paid anything...plus you can't beat Dom's upbeat attitude. My day was STRESSFUL and he never missed a beat and was so sweet and patient with me...well worth the $$.

I don't think it would be the same price. Did you check with them? It sounds to me that if you did film with them... you would only be getting the negatives and maybe proofs. You still won't be getting any actual prints and you would have to get them printed yourself.

And isn't it more expensive to print from film than it is to print from CD/File/Digital?

That's the thing..the contract (mine at least) was film and digital, but closer to the wedding there was a sort of 'you should do all digital' discussion...so the price remained the same but the option of film was gone. We had 2 photographers for 16 hours total and will get all digital images and rights...but I did feel like that wasn't what I signed up for...reducing the price was never mentioned.
