Okay so... i have a commitment letter with the board of ed and i've applied to over 100 schools with no phone calls... But thanks to SweetCin704 i have an interview with her old school at 3:30 today!!! This is my first real interview and I am freaking out!!!!!!!

I'm not a teacher so I'm not sure how it works. Once you have a commitment letter, are you guaranteed a job somewhere........or.............??

yeah, the commitment letter guarentees me a job... however i may not find out until the day b4 school starts and it may be in really bad neighborhoods so i've been trying to find my own school.

Plus i just got an e-mail from my recruitment officer and i am placed in Region 1, which is north Bronx and i am from Queens. It will take me about 2 hrs to get there by public transportation!!! Now i am praying even more that this interview goes well today!

Good luck. If it doesn't work out, my friend got her job by going to tons of schools the week before school started (next week). She actually got two offers. Lots of teachers resign around this time rather than before the summer so they can keep benefits through the summer.

I hope it works out. I am trying to find a teaching job and it has been a very frustrating experience. It has practically brought me to depression.

I think it went okay.. i dont know how to tell since this was my first interview. but she said she would call by the end of the week (which doesnt always mean a good thing).... IDK we'll see... I also found out that i'm placed in region 1, so i have to start applying to schools there.

When did you graduate? I have been teaching going on my 5th year. Not to scare you but I still don't have a premenant position on the island. Where was your interview? Once the 1st interview is done you will be fine for any others. You realize that they ask the same questions at all of them, just worded differently.
