what do you think? i have two really close friends and am having a hard time deciding between the two of them to be my maid of honor. the one that i've known the longest and would probably say is my number 1 pick, lives out of state. i don't want all of the MOH responsibilities to be a burden on her due to the distance. my other friend lives closer (about an hour away), yet is pregnant with baby #3 (her other 2 kids are both under 4 years old) and she's a bit overwhelmed these days.
i'm not getting married until december 2007, yet i'm torn between my two friends. both of my friends have already offered to help in any way the can. if i ask both of them, they could share the responsibilities. yet, i don't want to insult them either. any thoughts on having 2 MOHs?

Re: 2 maids of honor??
i have 2. it's more common than a wedding planning article might lead you to believe. i wanted one girl to be my MOH but wanted my MOH to be the one to sign my marriage license..and she's under 18 (my sister) so i have 2.

I have a maid of honor and a matron of honor. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Especially since a lot of my friends husbands had 2 best men

Re: 2 maids of honor??
I am a MOH in my cousin's wedding in September, yet she lives in Ohio. There is a second MOH that lives closer to her. As much as I would love to do more...I can only do so much from 800 miles away. I would choose both if thats what you want.

Re: 2 maids of honor??
I think I've got you all beat! I'm having 3 Maids of honor & 1 Matron of Honor!
Two of My MOH, have been my friends forever-since 7th grade, and High School. My third MOH was responsible for pushing me and my FH together (I didn't like him when we met!) My Matron of Honor is my cousin, who took me in during a very difficult time in my life-no questions asked.
How could I choose between them? Remember it's your wedding, and you can do basically anything you want! I am putting a brief note as to why I chose 3 MOH in my programs, before I list each girl, and why I chose her.
All of my MOH will split the MOH duties (there are enough to go around).
All of the groomsmen will wait at the front w/ the Groom at the ceremony for the girls to enter. Upon exiting the BM will escort two MOH back down the aisle. Simple!

Re: 2 maids of honor??
a maid of honor is not married a matron of honor is married
although my matron of honor hates the word 'matron' and i am FORBIDDEN to use it in any part of my wedding LOL
i think having 2 MOH is nice :)

A Matron of Honor is a married woman, a Maid of Honor is unmarried
